What Upgrades do you put on Riflemen?

This can be a munitions sink, and they seem to be second only to Guards in dropping the things.


So what do people prefer?


Nothing

1 x BAR

1 x Bazooka

2 x BAR

2 x Bazooka

1 of each


Specialise some with BAR and some with Bazookas?

If I get both, I like them to be specialized. If I have an excess of munitions and have 4 rifleman, rear echelon, and Lieutenant I might give the lieutenant a bazooka, and a rifle squad double bazooka. The rest BAR.

I get BAR just after Captain. BARs are monster. I give 6x to 3 riflemenand 2x to Panthfinder. None inf scares me then.

Never go for bazooka.
Grenades? Sometime in late game if I need.

Cataclaw told me, that if you use Volley fire with Rear echelon that has an Bazooka, it will fire the bazooka crazy fast

Should I get nades first? Or bars? But you should definitely give 2 bazookas to rear echelon so with volley fire it can fire a stream of rockets of death :D

There is no reason to get anything else then .30 cals, unless maybe you rapidly need AT. 30 cals enable rifle squads to - quite literally - dominate any Ostheer/OKW inf. squad with the possible exception of "Obersoldaten" (lol, what a spectacularly clumsy name - next time please hire a German speaker Relic.) Frankly, .30 cals are quite overpowered.

I'd probably go BARs 2x if I havent gone infantry commander and am willing to wait for the .30 cal. I find that if you use the RE's volley fire and send up your rifles to finish off the squad the BARs will make short work of almost any squad. Other than that, it gives your rifles that much needed punch early/mid to compete with grens, etc.

Also, does anyone now if buying the weapon rack upgrades (like nades) increases the rate rifles get vet? In CoH1 they did, and i'm curious if they've added that here as well.

I don't usually bother with them. I'll put a second bar on my lieutenant, but I prefer to spend the munitions on grenades or volley fire otherwise. For bazookas I just use captain/scout car vehicle crew, or AT guns.

If I'm really floating munitions in the mid-late game, I may throw bars on my vet rifle squads to let them stand toe to toe a bit better with upgraded german infantry.

I always double up. I never put a 1 bazooka and 1 LMG in the same squad. Mathematically that always means that u are wasting shots from the weapon on targets that its not specialized in killing. I usually have between 3-4 rifle squads out by mid game. 2/3rds to 3/4 of them are always maxed out with LMG's, the last squad is armed with 2 bazooka's supporting the other squads. With the captain with a 2nd bazooka also helping out. This way your squads won't ever be wasting shots firing LMG's at tanks and vise versa.

oh and I prefer the browning over the BAR hands down. Free unlock at 3 cp and can suppress if in defensive stance. And still costs the same munitions as the BAR.

Browning LMG x2 if infantry company, BAR x2 if not. Nades if I need them. If I'm floating, zooks x2 for the Rear Echelon chums.

Usually I play with the infantry commander, so my rifles will end up with 1 Bazooka and 1 M1919A6 which makes them pretty damn good vs inf and vehicles alike. Sometimes ill have a LT with them for some extra anti inf too.

I really dont rate BARs, the M1919A6 is just trolololol

LMGs when im infantry doctrine (75% of the time). Otherwise, usually early BARs to keep up with infantry scaling. Zooks if i think they're going to rush something and my teammates look like they'll have no anti tank.
