Luchs profile please! I'd be okay with Panzer IV too but it's an open secret that it's doctrinal, and they aren't doing doctrine units.

Volks or obersoldaten definitely - we need to know about the core infantry. Rifles and ... The lieutenant-captain-major. The howitzers would both match, the kubelwagen and the 0.50 cal as well.

Or they can at least release a video for OKW similar to the stream they did for the US force ;)

M20 is going to be a weird unit to use. In order to use the bazooka, the crew has to exit (thus risking the car getting blown up or snatched) and then engage on foot.

double M20 tactics?

A crew cannot recrew their vehicle if they are in combat, it wouldnt work. The m20 will probably be used to snatch SturmTigers or assist in skirmishes the USF knows will win.

Not much optimistic abt the m20 bazooka decrew...this dual role will give it a adv in light vehicle fights, true.

But for that to happen m20 will have to be effective on okw inf enough to prompt a light vehicle counter..with hidden puppchens and shreck on volks i don't think anyone will bother that much, because these alone are enough to take care of m20 and m20 won't make an anti-inf impact as much.

Its greatest impact will be laying those mines.

M20 could also be used for a early base rush maybe....very risky but go in base..decrew blow up stuff..get in... flee.Or blow up the mg nest..and lay a mine on the entrance.Sneaky stuff..late game ..its main utility will be mine laying.

They can recrew in combat as long as there is atleast 3 men in the squad. Decrewing has a short delay.

Building off this idea, does an entire squad get in a decrewed vehicle from the American's now? I assume that the M20 has 3 or 4 unit slots to take it, if a rifle gets in, can the rest of the squad return to base and reinforce? Then could the rifles exit the vehicle and now be two rifle squads? If say the soviets take an abandoned M20, do they also get the ability to leave, or can only vehicle crews do it?

I still have to wonder why "rear echelon squad" is a frontline combat unit.

That's literally the opposite of what rear echelon personnel are.

They said something about the German advance in the Battle of the Bulge forcing rear troops who were for support and not frontline fighting into combat.

During the battle of the bulge a lot of "rear echelon" who weren't supposed to fight were often thrown into battle. This is also why a lot of black soldiers, who were often only assigned to such duties due to segregation, saw the majority of fighting during the battle.

Which is why I'm kind of disappointed there aren't any black rear echelon squads considering the soviets got a few female units.

Yeah but wouldn't that make them a defensive unit, not an offensive unit?

In the US Army, the M1 garand gets all the glitz but the reality is there were more M1 carbines issued than Garands (front line troops). Rear echelon troups and US calvary troops carried them.

from blog.

"Brief Description: Rear Echelon Troops are often caught up in combat augmenting frontline combat troops. Effective defenders and versatile, no army can do without them. Good for crewing team weapons, constructing defenses, hasty battlefield repairs, or last ditch infantry pushes."

sounds like they are defensive unit
