Odd that it still calls them "Guards Rifle Infantry" in-game if they're a different unit. Shouldn't they be called something different?

But yes, its a diceroll skill, just like fuel for soviets, it can get you 20 fuel, it can give you 40(30 is slightly below cost effectiveness if we compare to other similar skills).

Are you also accounting for the small but measurable possiblity that the enemy will shoot it down while it is flying over their base causing it to crash on them?

Grenadier translates to rifleman. So its a basic description i guess and the assault differentiates it. You would propably call them Sturmsoldaten or Stoßtruppen. As Sturmtruppen is reserved for the Stormtroopers.

He doesn't complain about the stuff being free but about the plethora of stuff already being there (too many comanders), if I read it right...

Wat?

The patch comes in and free goodies with it.

Do you expect an official delegation sent to your house with golden key to unlock free stuff?
Dude, you're literally pathetic.

(IMHO) PQ and co have done a nice job with this patch. I never thought I would love a Sherman, but Lend Lease Commander is good - and free!

I really wish the Western Front was delayed for another 6 months, so that we might get the best out of this balance

Grenadier translates to Grenadeguy. Name has nothing to do with balance anyway. They can call the unit Uber Space Marine Terminator Commandoes for all I care; the string displayed when you select a unit does not matter. The cost effectiveness does.

Its an honorary title. From 18th-19th Century. Grenadiers had to be brave to walk up to Fusiliers to get into Grenade range.

Thats why they are called that. Its like saying your elite.

Grenadier doesn't translate to rifleman. Schütze means rifleman.

Or, they shoot it down, and it lands on the soviet forces. You know, since that is the direction the plane is going.

'Grenadier' is a honorific starting from (sometime in 1942) I believe.

It was purely applied by the Germans for morale reasons rather than anything to do with substance.

German motorized infantry troops were renamed 'Panzergrenadiers'. Mot. Infantry divisions were also renamed: "Panzergrenadier divisions"

The difference between grenadier and panzergrenadier was this: One was a fighting man from a horse drawn infantry division (he marched on foot once he got off his train). The other rode in trucks to battle.

That's nitpicky. The term rifleman is more general than the terms Grenadier and Schütze. Grenadier is the more honorary title (as mentioned before).
