You can get 99% to 100% of 4 Grens in cover, that would be 3,96 to 4 entities. For Cons you can only get 25% to 45% of 6, so 1.5 to 2.7 entities.

I assumed you should at least be able to get 4 Cons into cover if you can get 4 Grens into cover. I assume that disparity arises from the fact that Soviets carry so many Molotov and vodka bottles with them, they need more space.

Speaking of putting things in cars. I'd like to see all cars/half tracks that do not have a mounted gun be stationary for troops in the vehicle to fire. Schrecks firing on the move from a half track ... that is a bit much.
I haven't tried to put a sniper in a car yet since the patch ... can he go in it and just not fire but is still allowed to be transported or just not able to go in the vehicle. If the later ... that's just wrong.

On a more serious note, the OP is correct.

Every type of green cover that is not a long piece of wall is usually only able to provide cover for 3-4 men. Haystacks, wells, tank carcasses, farming equipment, tombstones, sandbags (the ones already on the map) all provide better cover for the German 4-man squads compared to the Soviet 6-men squads.

The same goes for many types of yellow cover as well. Small bushes, craters, carts, dead horses, fallen tree branches etc etc.

And of course, houses with less then then 6 windows facing in any direction.

this has nothing to do with the cover system in vcoh

the fact of the matter is sometimes they just don't take cover, or they run out in the open sometimes randomly. or they get stuck along the way on light cover when you put them in nearby heavy cover.

it's less of a problem on grens because their smaller squadsize leaves less room for error.

it's only a problem now because cover actually means something

that's all i was getting at, sorry if i didn't get my point across the in the OP

Cons can build green cover. You need start use it.

Cover system in vcoh was top but cover interaction could have been 100% better, that's what they enhance with the elit mod.


I mean, if coh2's units jump around and are movements animation/unit block related, I can understand the OPpost.

It has always been raging to have rifles and volks being late on the move or behind an hedgerow, while the rest of the squad is fighting because there is too many models shocking each others in the squad...
