kar 98k does double damage vs mosin nagants at long range. The soviets have 2 more men which means that grens do 25% more damage at long range than conscripts.However at medium/close range the damage is equal which means that conscripts do 25 % more damage.


Where are you getting these Damage tables Burts?

I wanna see. And good to hear. That lack of armor or HP adjustment was shocking..

Good point on the MG42 and on the Grens I sure as hell hope so. Dominance of Conscripts would be game breaking BS.


The problem is the Germans won't have anything to counter penal spam now, nothing. The Gren LMGS move up a tier and MGs aren't going to be effective due to the increase in small arms fire as well as the buff to grenades/Molotovs(?). Tier 0 is going to suck as Germans.

actually no, kar 98K does MORE damage than the SVT 40 at long range , penals are going to lose even HARDER than conscripts vs grens long range. You really have to stop thinking this is coh 2, there are NO good units, the side which uses any unit effectivelly wins.

penals are basically going to be the decent at everything but not too good at anything unit

It looks like penals are quite different then they used to be. Lets see how things plays out before we start saying things are too powerful.

Possibly but remember they are going to die like Scripts. I would be more worried about LMG Ireegulars early game. Since Grens wont have LMGs and Irregulars can plus a very very very lethal nade.

Scout car remember is going to be alot stronger.

you guys also forget that pgs and grens are basically going to be 4 man conscript squads, except pgs which have a very slight 0.2 armor more than conscripts.
So basically all german infantry is going to win at long range, however if soviets manage to properly get in close, you are quite literally. Lets just say... fucked.

I also have no idea why everyone thinks ass gren spam is going to work. If you manage to find some 100% cover approach to get close range, then okay, you will win vs concsripts.
However if you think just running at no cover vs concsripts and win is going to work, then you are wrong. Because conscripts will kill atleast 1-2 assault grens before your assault grens get close range.

I will, but the huge manpower decrease to Penals and the huge nerf to grenadiers is a massive change on paper and worthy of comment.

Also, one thing to keep in mind ,shocks are no longer going to be the HUZZAH CHARGE COMRADES againts a bunch of mg's they are instead going to be a very powerfull flanking unit.
Their dps at close range is 10 for 1 ppsh, which means, that the whole shock troop squad is going to have 60 dps , which means your average grenadier squad is going to last 3-4 seconds before being wiped out. HMG crews are going to last even shorter, maybe just 2 seconds before being wiped by shocks.
However, shocks are not going to be as durable as they are now.
Oh,and this is from a 10 meter distance.

I'm also glad that the german light vehicles got delayed, since FHT now required T3 tech, shocks + T1 might actually be a viable strat now a days.

Germans

KAR 98 now uses the bolt-action rifle weapon profile
MP40 now uses the submachine gun weapon profile
MP44 now uses the assault rifle weapon profile
G43 now uses the carbine rifle weapon profile
LMG42 now uses the light machine gun weapon profile
Luger 9mm pistol now uses the pistol weapon profile

Soviets

Mosin Nagant now uses the bolt-action rifle weapon profile
SVT now uses the carbine rifle weapon profile
PPSH now uses the submachine gun weapon profile
DP-28 now uses the light machinegun weapon profile


Isn`t KAR 98 a carabine (Kar being short for karabine) and G43 a bolt action rifle? Not sure about Mosin/SVT, but it seems the weapon profiles may be switched?

Good changes except I don`t see why sov sniper squad needed increase in HP (yeah german sniper got the increase too but lost armor on the other hand). Good thing you can no longer garrison snipers in scout cars.

Guards are also more expensive and have more armor then Pgrens o.O Patch doesnt say they have less than 1.5 Armor or their price and pop cap goes down.

Increased damage from LMGs means Guards better than Pgrens?

Veterancy that previously provided increased armor has been replaced with received accuracy. The received accuracy variable functions almost identical to the use of armor. However, it also acts to reduce unit accuracy over-capping – i.e. units that currently have more accuracy than they. As units gain veterancy, their additional accuracy values will be countered by the received accuracy reduction on other units.


Wonder if that applies to vehicles as well.

This post is aimed at one simple thing - Changelogs and such require a lot of in depth knowledge of the mechanics and stats behind the game. Even experienced people have a hard time to make predictions when so many variables change, so if you think something is OP or UP or whatever, please test it first. Most of the time the assumptions do not hold up to a test :p
