There is really nothing that a T70 can do that a T34 can't do as well or better.

I understand what you mean but the T70 is small, fast, cheap, quiet, self-repairs and its recon mode is excellent gaining insane vision with veterancy.

T70 and the T3 halftrack are my least used units in the game...

So combos:

-T-34/76+ SU-76. SU-76 is good at sniping Panzer IV's and Ostwinds.

This would weaken German T3 (panzer IV/Ostwind)and give them more incentive to go German T4 in 1 v 1. The SU-76 underperforms against the Big Cats and shooting their frontal is like chipping paint.

-SU-85+ Halftrack or SU-85 + T-70

Halftrack in the rear of the SU would reinforce infantry around the SU and provide suppression around the SU. It would also provide anti-air.

or

T-70 could scout or defend the SU. But it'll be very vulnerable to RPGs/tanks in direct fire so I would opt for the halftrack.

If they went with a tier swap, I'd support a T70 for SU76 swap over the halftrack. The halftrack feels more synergistic with the SU76 and T34, while having the T70 spot and clear infantry/light vehicles for the SU85 and Rocket Trucks feels more complementary.

+1 this is a fantastic idea.

The way I see it tier three is best combined with tier two and a more defensive army with set up teams while tier four synergizes better with tier one and specialist infantry. The "SU-76 Specialist" bulletin reads "the open fighting position made the tank vulnerable to grenades or mortars, but allowed the crew to better communicate with nearby infantry units."

The M5 halftrack M17 quad-mounted AA guns already provides a great anti-infantry option while the T34 protects set-up teams and defensive flanks. Swapping the T70 for the SU-76 would give a light AT option and barrage making tier three more flexible while tier four would benefit from the T70 flanking, recon and veterancy ability capturing capabilities.

Wat?
M3 probably kills easier and faster then M5 quad.
Quad is not even an upgrade, its side grade.

Unless by great anti infantry option you meant platform that allows for shock reinforcement on the field.

I actually like the overall thought of mobile t3 and more hard hitting but less mobile t4. Not sure about any units moving from either to the other.

Which makes as much sense as upgrading panthers into tigers.

I would say that the russin Halftrack should be in T2 like the German.
It is a infantry reinforce Unit, isn't it???
Why can the Germans have it in T2?
I know, not everything should be the same for the Factions but i think this should!!!

My argument is this:
The germans can choose (after T2) T3 or T4 and they still have the reinforcment-option.
The russions dont. The have to choose also between T3 and T4 but if they want T4 and the reinforcment-option they have to build T3 also.
Am i right? :-)

With the current tech/tier system, a soviet player would only need to gather 30 fuel to get a halftrack if it was in T2. A german needs to gather a lot more before he can call in a halftrack.

Soviets tiers are horror, if you want combined arms.

I agree. Soviet choosing T3 of T4 is their flavor. I think the real problem here is that they have to choose between T1 or T2 which leaves their army a little too flat.

Right now going t1 to t3 is not a thing, unless its only to put the last nail into your opponents coffin. But I don't think the problem is with t3, the problem is that soviet army would lack staple units like mg and AT gun. To support t3.

Maybe you have the numbers right but... I see german Halftracks after i don't know, maybe 3-4 minutes. So it would be (almost) the same for russians because they built T2 most of the time after 3-4 minutes. To get a little bit ahead of you... if someone builts it right away he has to wait also about 2 minutes to get the fuel or if he does build the halftrack he can not afort AT Granades and Molotovs.
So i think it's the same!!!

Base M5 has much higher DPS than a M3.

Upgraded M5 has higher dps AND range than base M5.

One word: Suppression

I've never seen it suppress anything on greater range then point blank.

@link0
I do admit, I exaggerated on the DPS, but that is a DPS alone.
M5 can't use its 'real' dps because it arrives when AT is littered everywhere, so you either attack AGs/pios/weapon teams only or turn into scrap metal.

Well soviets have merge which helps them a bit in reinforcing. Germans don't have anything like that so their halftrack comes out sooner plus they need the flamer to counter shocks.

My suggestion is: put shocks out with 4ppl like pgrens. Put KW8 in T3. Than i think the game would be balanced very well.

We are talking about T3 and T4 stuff. If you want to complain about shocks there are plenty of other threads.

I really like the idea of T-70 and SU-76 being swapped. T-70 and T34/76 don't mesh very well, neither do SU-76 and SU-85. But an SU-76 with a T-34/76 would be much better, and a T-70 would have more staying power and use with an SU-85 being the next step up.

Side-Note: I also think that T3 should be given T-34/85's, but at some sort of requirement (Building upgrade, or T4 building?), and T4 could get the ZiS truck so that T4 has transports, though less useful than T3's.
