IRL the Stug E was similar to the SU76, and the Stug G was the direct counterpart. In the game though since the SU76 struggles with armor it should be similar to Stug E.
Even though it is only in one doc (now) I would still like to see a free barrage ability added to the Stug E as I mentioned.
And yes indeed the name means assault gun.

i think the only reason why the stug III e is in the game is that relic heard players want new units, so they just shoved in a new one from ToW because for some reason they don't want to make any more new tanks.
it will be much better if it was replayed with a stuh, which was in action in stalingrad after all.
This, seriously. I don't think adding a stuh would be balanced, it would make the doctrine even more over powered

So, since the last post was a year go, anyone has recently had any luck using this cute thing?
How does it perform anti-infantry or anti-armor?
I've used it just a few times and my opinion is that it seems it works well vs infantry, when I used it defensively, and can put some pressure on their armor, with pak40's support, plus it vets up fast

It's not for AT work.
However it counters the counters to assault genes and comes in the same doc.
People will often counter ass grens with Shocks and or T1, and it eats these.
Needs to be careful of real armour, real AT, conscripts with At grenades, zooks and sometimes PTRS.
A pair are standard in my BO for that commander.

Well, if you guys all saying that it sucks, then maybe it's just me. Dunno, last time I used it (not recently though) it killed infantry like a meat grinder, but, again, maybe it's just me.
Anyway, it's role is not AT focused, but AI focused. So I wouldn't complain to much if it can't stand toe to toe with a T34...

I like both the concept and the current state. It's a support vehicle, Get 1 or 2, Bring a Pak and wait for tiger. Although a little bit of AoE increase would be great.

And against soviets it consistently takes out chunks of infantry, killing 2-4 models per shot (unless it completely misses).
