How about if Guards were tech, put in HQ, and would be unlocked after first building is built, but LMG,ppsh or PTRS would be available to upgrade to when second building is built, similar to OST PzGrens.

What about locking Conscript Mosins behind T3 too? That way we could get "historically accurate" Soviet infantry without actual guns.

Guards Mosin is quite a strong weapon especially on the move.

Yes, let's give soviets 6men tommies with great upgrades Kappa.

Guard's Mosin is more like a slightly worse Grenadier K98, although it has unusually high moving accuracy like the G43. This is because Gaurd's are meant to carry 2-4 heavy weapons, both of which cannot attack on the move.

Does it make it better if I say "let's give soviets 6men grens with great upgrades"?

guards in t1 with penals being doctrinal would have been a good design to build around, but the game is too far along for such a change now. guards are quite formidable and given the current balance shouldnt be stock, and DEFINITLY shouldnt be always available through hq, even with some tech timing requirements.

Was hoping for a somewhat tweaked Guards (guards light?), to give SOV some early versatile oomph. maybe a 5man option?

They would come with grenades as is, decent on the move dmg, to change things up compared to ''standard full guards'', when second building is built, access to ppsh or LMG

Several commanders would need a rework for this change, and it doesn't seem all that necessary in the first place tbh

would it really be necessary to rework commanders?
really don't know how much work would be needed to create an offspin of guards for tech.

was just hoping for some new common infantry that you would be able to produce regardless of which build you go for.

is frontoniki squads from campaign possible to put into HQ and be tuned?

That probably wouldn't be too bad, but why do it? And what would the offspin be, more specialized guards?

The current patch is already improving the soviets stock AT infantry
