in 4v4, you have no choice but to use veteran squad leader doctrine and upgrade to 5men gren :(

Its just confuse me, how 5men Gren upgrade that lock out LMG42 can win over 5men Tommy double Bren? Is veteran squad that good?

maybe not 5men double brens vetted tommy

but for other 5-6 men allies infantry spam, VSL gives Ost player a fighting chance to blob-v-blob

Ahhhh yes. The blob vs blob argument. Countering blobs as Axis with your own gren/pzgren/whatever blobs is L2P at best. Allies are the only faction that is natural at blobbing mainly because of officers that come with teching up. You have the natural 3 man Infantry opening + echelon + 2 officers (or 3). That's a lot of units by default, not to mention if you want rangers. Axis on the other hand has elite infantry that is much better suited for solo engagements and not so much as blobs...that's why axis gets werfer and stuka which can be devastating in the right hands (and complete noobish in wrong)

as a 2vs2 player, I feel like in late game Conscript 7th man squad is not only improve firepower but thanks to the extra man, they can stay on the field even longer and more chance of not getting wiped when retreat.

Also, in 2vs2 consider the late game is not just like early game where it's purely infantry vs infantry, we have tons of thing that can wipe support weapons ( mortar, AT gun, MG ) such as Rocket, ISU, Brumbar v.v.v

=> Now with the extra man, it's even easier for Conscript to steal this stuff and can even stay and fight if they want ( 4 models left if squad is intact after recrew support weapons)

---------------------

Consider that it's " taboo " to asking for 5th man Grenadier non doctrine at tier 4 ( Even after the suggested that they are forbid to upgrade to 5th man IF they previously have upgrade with LMG42 )

=> Is it possible to ask for lower the required model that Ostheer need to recrew something?

Example: Only need 2 models from 4 man squads (Grenadier, PanzerGrenadier, Pioneer) to pick up support Weapons.

Right now if Grenadier Squad only have 3 models then you don't even think about picking up anything and top tier players will focus on shooting down Gren to 3 mans to disabled the ability to pick up

Yeah let's have Ostheer autowin every game, why not?

Well, Ost are the most defensive faction in play style, so they should not be extending their team weapons to where they are difficult to recover, and equally they *should* have a harder time than other factions stealing the enemys stuff. Compared to Soviets, who are probably the most aggresive (in terms of pressure), have the best chance of recovering enemys weapons. Its all part of intended faction design.

So other faction if they lost 1 model from most of their 5(6) man squad it's okay for them to recrew support weapons but if Ostheer losing 1 model they are forbid to? Because what? Ostheer too OP?

in 2vs2 it's kinda common to see rockets flying arounds in late game, it's not just about stealing enemy stuff, sometimes it's outright denied Ostheer to recrew their support weapons if we consider Allies pushing right behind rocket, they can shoot 1 model from any Ostheer squad they can't no longer recrew anything to retreat with it ( unless you have a halftrack / reinforce bunker right behind it but then you gotta wait, enemy can keep shooting and you risk the chance of bleeding more manpower )

again... why are we trying to nerf the worst baseline infantry (tied with grens) in the game??

the soviets already have the lowest winrate in this game period. stop trying to push that number even lower...

I think we may differ on what we consider makes a blob effective.

I dont think officers have anything to do with it. A lieutenant does not make a blob stronger just because he gains exp from the infantry around him. What makes a blob good or bad is the attributes of the infantry involved. Being able to fire on the move helps a lot as does being an all range generalist. This means units like stg volks and BAR rifles are particularly suited for it. G43 grens can kinda do it but they lack durability and lack raw dps at longer ranges. In some ways LMG42 grens are better at blobbing since you can just "A-move" them and they'll always start at their optimum range.

Thats why Ost needs to play defensive with support weapons, so that if and when they do decrew, you can reclaim the area, and then safely reman it. If you are getting hard pushed off an area, you should really be retreating team weapons quite handily. And in late game with rocket arty, you should be even more defensive with team weapons, or at least spread them out and treat them as more expendable.

Ost support weapons are brutal, MG42 can base pin if it gets the chance, but they need to be vulnerable and 4 man squads are big part of that.

1 important part about Ost weapon crew is they can use Pion to crew weapon teams. While other infantry has 30m sight, they have 45m sight which is pretty much self-spotting.

I think the issue at hand is not necessarily the 7-man-upgrade, but the ability to build sandbags (and way better sandbags than the normal ones at that). The problem aren't the 7 men per se, as they are still cons, but it's 7 men in heavy cover when you have to push plus their insane utility with molotovs and AT-nades.

In conclusion, maybe upgrading them to a 7-men-cons should lose them the ability to construct sandbags or something along that line? What do you think about that?

Their entire thing is durable utility... Like that's it. They are not meant to burst down enemies, they don't have concentrated dps. They have durability. 7 man cons behind sandbags are SUPPOSED to be annoying to dig out.
