What it do folks, back on my crusade to see the OST Tiger VI buffed (again). I won't make this longer than it needs to be, so my question is simple;

After the recent nerfs to the Tiger, does it's performance match its cost?

*****************************

Personal thoughts on the current state of the Tiger;

No question the Tiger was absurdly OP prior to the nerfs, with its broken scatter and 9cp requirement. However, OST has struggled to fill the vacuum left by the nerfs. It has significantly weakened many of OST's best commanders (Mechanized, Spearhead), without any decent replacements.

I feel punished for not picking Jaeger Armour or Strategic Reserves, thus I'd like to see the Tiger buffed to return more variety to OST's meta commanders.

I'm sure few of us want to return to the heavy meta, nonetheless I'd still advocate for a significant buff to the Tiger VI. It just misses too many shots against both infantry and armour, often making it feel like a complete waste of resources.

Thanks for reading :snfBarton:

They were all overnerfed but none as bad as the Pershing.

In the right hands, Tiger 6 becomes just a monster. So, learn to use it. This is not the only tank that does not hit 100% on a unit.

I would have prefer to stay on the previous thread about it, there was at least some interesting data to avoid the inevitable "learn to play scrub" or "but the others heavies too got shred".

The Tiger is a joke and giving it to the OKW made it harder to balance, especially in 1vs1, so is the OKW Tiger a different unit which could be refer as "Command Tiger" or it is just a regular Tiger with an ability?

The Tiger Ace is even more a joke, and it was already true for a long time.

premium heavy tanks should have an impact in the game, i have seen better players than me lose tigers to laughable small amounts of zooks/penals etc, where even a pz4 would either outrun or outgun the mini-blob.

What about Perhsing then? It was good at AI, now it's mediocre at it. Armour is that of Panther, HP is that of Panther and AT is weaker than Panther. It's 13 CP and in a commander who's only good thing are the rangers. Plus it's as expensive as other heavies.

In other words, blobs are not afraid of it anymore, can't bounce anything except P4s so breakthroughs are a no-no. It's only good thing is the veterancy 3 when it becomes somewhat viable (which is often hard in teamgames for a "squishy" heavy).

What about Pershing?

I don't think the tiger itself is all that much weaker. It still gets the job done (almost)as well it did before. I think the timing and fact you can't abuse the insta spawn upon loss is what contributing to it's "UP ness". Maybe a timing buff like less cp or cheaper cost maybe idk i don't think i'm skilled enough to even attempt to answer that.

If someone loses a Tiger to a few PTRS penals or bazooka squads, they must be so horrendously bad as if they purchased the game just a few days ago.

And they were better than you? No offense but what rank are you playing at then? 7,000?

Aerafield, im only rank 2906 in 4v4 OST, but thats not the point here, you think you would leave a tiger1 alone to deal with 2-3 riflemen,with zooks and win against them, perhaps the nerfs haven't really sunk in yet with some players, and they thought they could still win such engagements.
still think that tiger1 should have the upper hand against 2 standard inf with zooks/satchels

Potentially 6 Bazookas? No. It wouldn't be worth risking it. Use infantry to beat the Rifles gimped by bazookas while supported by the Tiger.

I am tots not sure why people are insisting on using units to fight other units that are upgraded with (or are) their hard-counters and expecting to constantly win.

As an OST player, I think Tiger is OK. The main problem are the lot of AT options Allies have (AT guns seems to pen Tiger 4 out of 5 times. And TD almost every shot).

OKW Tiger used to have commander which enable it with more range, accuracy + arty strike and also good Anti-infantry capable enable it to go on rampage.

Now you remove everything it turns into a punching bag + increase vet items for Allies Anti-tank destroyer ( such as SU-85 with amazing sight, m36 Jackson with AP round, firefly v.v.v )

My buddy and I used to have our combo of OKW Tiger + Elefant, now we just use combo of OKW P4 + OKW Jadpzner + OKW Stuka anti-tank strike + Ostheer elefant, at least we are not handling free vet to Allies Anti-tank destroyer this time and actually do have medium tank in mid game, not stalling until Tiger.

At least let the OKW Tiger have the commander guy -_-

I did. It was largely ignored because this community (especially those who still post here) is now 90% Axis mains.

Say what you want about the Tiger, the Pershing got it much worse. Honestly what they did to heavies in the last balance patch was such a lazy thing to do. They just basically changed all three multi-role heavies the same way without regard to how each unit fits into each faction.

perhaps the pershing got hit the hardest, can't seem to get a good use of it now, except in tighter areas(cities etc) where its harder to get meet casemate TD's.
buff the pershing too, even make it non-doctrinal like OKW gets their KT lategame, so that USF has something durable

It was ignored because it was a bad joke.

Tiger has some weird issues with scatter / elevation. Tiger Ace is... almost there. It costs more, takes more pop and is capable of more consistent field presence but is just a little bit lacking. I think Sander's vet 2 idea is about all they need.
