Muscle memory? Or just too old

Not playing any RTS in a few days, or a week.
Boot up the game, ends up no idea what I am doing, no sense or anything, can't even micro anything.

Did I rely too much on muscle memory? Or just too old for this kind of game anymore :(

A few days or weeks shouldn't be an issue.

After a couple of games you should be back in form. But don't expect the same performance if you used to play daily.

That applies to all games. Lower your expectations.

Age isn't that big of a deal, your reaction speed barely changes until 50+

Nah, I used to play Zerg like crazy back in early 20s. Now I can't even play Starcraft. :(

How old are you anyway? I am over 40 and i see a difference in playing games when i was younger the now. It is not only the body but also the mind that makes a difference. When you are older your will to adapt or your patience runs out.Things like that

I am 22 and I definitely notice a big difference in the first 10-15 minutes of my first match of the day, especially if I took a break that lasted longer than 1 day or if its winter and my hands are cold.

I just need that short warm-up period, before that my micro speed is significantly slower.

If I skipped like few days, the first 3 games was like my brain not even working.
I don't find this situation in action RPG. :(
I can still play Ghost of Tsushima / Sekiro.

But RTS? I saw a grenade throwing, brain told the hand to move, but hand doesn't do anything. I have no idea what's going on.

Hey this is just like a month ago when you said "I don't like this game any more", and before that when you made a post about the 2 rifles being able to overpower a MG42.

Still no replay sent. (2 months later)!

It seems you are still hating the game and posting about it (at least for 3 months now). As I said last time, why not just let it be? fuming your frustration doesn't help anyone here. Focus on things that DO make you happy.

Just looking out for you <444>3

Your stamina to maintain high-level micro is the thing that will have diminished the most not your ability to react. You can always do a reaction test to see :)

The problem with Multiplayer StarCraft, it was a stress-fest back then, it is still a stress-fest nowadays and I can't be bothered with that level of stress anymore; it's not even remotely fun.

Exactly. Now I rather have some sit-back, small challenge, minimum-little stress, enjoy-the-story game.
Life is already a stress-fest, why bother adding it even more?

If you can get ahold of some methylphenidate, I find it really enables focus and speed. The problem is you won't sleep. Like, at all.

If you can't, high caffeine and then only try to play 2-3 games seriously. After that you start to burn out. Eat lightly if ranking.
