I dunno man, if you're floating 1000mp 500 fuel at the end of a 3v3 this would invite making 6-7 HTs and just getting free vision everywhere.
1200-1400 manpower and ~30 is not really free And for what scenario? The super late game where axis usually have things like flares, spotting scopes etc. already anyway?

Well free as in no pop cap. Tbh I'd sooner have the popcap abuse by USF go than have OKW abuse it as well.
I don't really see an issue with the unit, maybe a 1 or 2 pop cap reduction would be okay.

5 popcap seems kinda rough for a now extremely situational niche unit that cannot fight nor capture territory (like medics or an USF ambulance who have popcap). It's a complete non-combatant like Opel Blitz which has 0 popcap
Sure, would be welcome in many a game where I'm at pop cap and desperately need sight into where that pesky TD wall is. It dies in 2 shots so is easier to get rid of than a bunker and has no direct firepower whatsoever.

The halftrack has an timed ability which ignores line of sight, same effect as in the video of Olekman. It also detects camouflaged units within the sightcone while the ability is active.
The unit become inline with 251 from strategic reserves without the camo/reinforcement.

imo opinion a unit that can see further then a JT can shoot is useful under any circumstance. People underestimate the power of constant vision.
I saw elpern clapping inca una a few days ago by looking into the enemy base from about mid vp on langres. checking for tanks and then sending in a sturmtiger to base rape him lol (kudoos for elpern)(1v1)
me my self and my buddies get atlesat 1 each at some point in the game. when playing 4s or 2s. if we all go okw. u can see su85s and jacksons u name it, b4 they can even shoot u, not to mention enemy t34 formations preparing for a Ram-and-Slam. the IR is incredibly usefull. especialy in team games, i for see problems if you remove popcap. Having a IR next to your elephant or JT makes life a lot easier. Also u can see blobs come in from miles away and prepare your arty accordingly. Also this thing takes 2 shots to kill, so u can go for an occassional sneakpeak, get an offmap in and gtfo lol.

Elp0rnGod teaching people how to play, as usual. Nothing new here, move along.
I see it quite often in 1v1s now, people have figured out how useful it is.
