Game is so unbalanced with this 4min t70 commander now which usually means full map control by the 5-6 minute mark.. I just dont understand how hard it can be to just make this game balanced after SO many months..
Everthing they seem to do is making new pay commanders just because not enough people bought their game? Sorry for the language but: how utterly retarded can one be..
Who ever is behind balancing in coh2 should really quit and find another job.

I just wish they had the same guys that made coh1.. Unfortuanly they are working with Blizzard on the new Diablo or whaterver from what I've heard.

9 minute t70 was already fast and now they also buffed t34s from the same tier. Wonder who's going SU85s nowdays?

I think they're just making OP commanders just to earn some more money then nerfing them the month after. (Just like the assgren doctrine).
The same goes for the russian 7muni mines doctrine.

Also this german commander that allows insta vet 3 squad. Where's actually the fun in that?? Some of the best things in coh2 (In my opinion) was to slowly but sure earn your vetereancy by heroic work on the field. Im not sure if this doctrine is OP but its still just.. *******

(I'm not talking about the patch. The patch is great) but the commanders are just.. horrible..

Im sorry but these pay-commanders gotta stop man and most people I talked with has the same opinion.

I really like how you completely bash 2 new Soviet commanders while somehow justify German ones by saying you're not sure if German doctrine is OP.

On the topic however I do agree that both paid commanders are a bit silly. Could be that we just need to learn new ways to deal with them and adapt or could be they are simply ridiculously OP. I think is a bit to early to say as both commanders have downsides.
Soviet one really cripple your manpower income and any loss is painful and German one cripple your teching if you go Vet crazy.

With the new Soviet commander however I like how it tries to mimic the Soviet war machine and tank production.

But don't worry, there are easy counters, which I shall be showing everyone shortly....

Hell, even I bought AssGrens. But no more. Not doing it.

As a soviet player, i actually like going up against Assault grens. for once, T1 is actually useful against this doctrine. access to m3 for some good mobile, long range firepower, pop in a penal flamer against heavy assault gren spam to dominate or a guards unit to deal with overzealous halftracks and scout cars. for once, i dont need to worry about panzerfausts.

as for new commanders, i think they are extremely badly designed; an obvious case of trying too fucking hard to come out with something new and refreshing but instead the game is becoming too arcadey(tiger baneblades and free vet).

the design is totally off for elite tanks. what tiger aces should have been is that they should be no different from their normal counterparts stat wise, but have unique abilities that improve the tank's efficiency.

for example, camouflage tank, the tiger cannot move in this mode but gains 1st shot bonuses(100% crew shock, extended shooting range, not sight). other round variants such a s HE, experimental tank rounds, incendiary shots, stun shots or something.

instead, what we got is a ww2 baneblade.

same with soviet industry tactics, the key feature of the soviet production was that they were able to replace tank losses with even more tanks, not even sure why allied fucking war machine ability was not included in this commander. instead we get free fuel conversion ability. whoever thought of that should be ashamed, the people that approved it should be fired.

there's just so much more design direction that they could have taken, but they just have to bust it and go with the most arcadey ones.

It's not that hard to make cool units without changing too many core mechanics, but I suspect that's what the COH2 devs find fun. Just modeling a new tank and giving it some stats and a price is easy. Coming up with inventive new game mechanics is hard. And can of course, have varying results.

Another problem that no one has brought up yet is that the Tiger Ace commander has too MANY good abilities. Most commanders have 2-3 good abilities and the rest are either terrible or meh. EVEN IF the Tiger Ace and the purchasable vet ability are nerfed a bit, the commander IS STILL too good because it has ALL the best German abilities in a SINGLE commander.

The arguably balanced abilities like G43s and Panzer tactician already the best prior existing German abilities in the game.

It's total bullshit to put all the best stuff into one commander.

The douchegun (DSHK) seems to have absolutely no drawbacks either. It's a supermaxim (doing everything atleast as good or better than the maxim) you get at 0cp without having to build T2. It really should've been using the MG42 setup times, and even those wouldn't necessarily balance it out.

I agree with this. I have no idea what the DSHK is bad at. It is a better maxim and replaces it entirely. I Thought the point of the new unit was to provide different strategies not make better versions of the same thing.

IMO, it should be harder to take out 2 tigers in 3 su 85s since there are two tanks you have to deal with.

But when you're only dealing with 1 tiger (even with buffed attack stats), it can only shoot an SU-85 down so fast, esp if you damage its engine (which isn't difficult, can be done with mines and AT Nades). So 3 SU-85s should take it down.

In any case, 3 SU-85s represents a huge commitment to AT for the soviets 3/10 of their pop is locked up and 2 of them costs even more (or the same) to call in than just one Tiger.

So if 3-4 SU-85s can't stop a tiger, nothing will.

Also, from experience, the Tiger Ace seems to have very good AI stats. I just watched it take out at least 2 models in one go with almost all of its shots.

New commanders are cool. I'm glad they keep adding to the game. I've spent a total of 462 hrs on Coh2 so far (and about 2500+ on coh1) and the $8 is totally fine with me.

The guys threatening to quit the game should get on with it and stop making so much noise.

The P2W-whine crowd should hit the highway as well. Things aren't going to back to "how it used to be".

Aye, I was also on the receiving end of that one. It's an uber-Maxim that also shreds light vehicles. The whole doctrine is extremely FHT and AC proof, in fact. But you pay for it with no end-game ability and no elite infantry, so that's the trade-off IMO. If you don't manage to get in a comfortable position early game, you will probably lose. And the DSHK sucks on some maps too.

So while it's not perfectly balanced, it's a far cry from the ridiculous pay to win sillyness of the other two.

Yeah, it seems so

The only game I faced this, I was using my fast-T2 strat anyway so I easily bypassed their MGs with Scout cars and Halftracks.

EDIT: I think the reason it worked was because he didn't have enough maxims on Moscow Outskirts and bundle nades are really good against this. But I could imagine this being very potent in Semiosky

Hmm, I don't think sov defensive works too well against fast T2

I am not a millionaire, but I wouldn't have much problem spending $300-$400 on a game and DLC.

I would gladly spend it on COH with better graphics and bit of modernizing software

I certainly won't spend any more money on COH2, and I am seriously contemplating uninstalling this crap and throwing my CE into garbage.

I can't see this unbalanced and OP DLC stopping, any time soon.

But for now, I will just quit playing for a while. Really fed up with this game and shitty decisions Relic/Sega takes (from mine/players perspective)

Not a troll. Just a bro who used to be president of the United States back before it was cool.

I spent $8 yesterday. Thats about the same amount I spent at Del Taco as well. Shit was amazing.

I spent some more money on the game $5-%10 like a month or so ago. Oh, and on a lark I bought some skins the other weekend in between rounds of tranny porn. Not a millionaire. And next month (or whenever) they put out new commanders I'm buying those as well.

But for now, I will just quit playing for a while. Really fed up with this game and shitty decisions Relic/Sega takes (from mine/players perspective)

See you dude! Four score and 7 years...and stuff. I'll keep an eye on your post count. Hopefully it stays the same as you've "quit" and have no need to go on the COH2 forum anymore.

Don't worry , man. They'll work out whatever kinks. I really like the fact that I have to learn what new stuff does. I've been having a good time getting my partisans killed.

And this game is amazing. I'm not sure what most of you guys are smoking. Theres a bajillion little details that are easy to miss, and the banter that goes on between squad mates is fantastic. "Spam...it has a magical taste". "Uncle Joe's little girls are here!". I checked out Hardcore History regarding the eastern front and Relic's been pretty astute. Anyhow, I could go on and on. Hopefully the devs understand that theres a good amount of bros (and ex-presidents) that really appreciate the game.

Sucks that I have to come out and counter the endless autistic-like stuttering of a few knuckleheads; "P2W, OMG BroZkors Y U MAD" etc.

The only positive thing I can say is that people are actually starting to open their fucking eyes. Been saying how fucked up a p2w system is in a rts ever since the very very start. Back then I got.. its pay for diversity and other semantic arguments. Finally people realise that these p2w dlc commanders is nothing more then a slap in the fucking face for everyone who has bought the game, everyone who supported the game with playing the beta and preordering it, everyone who loves the coh franchise and lastly all those potential future customers of the coh games.

People who complain about people who complain should actually read what people are saying. There are plenty of other economic models that would fit this game way better. These have been suggested but rarely addressed by community and never by companies them selves. Ex; similar to the system used in world of tanks, the normal system of expansions, seasonal passes, monthly subscriptions. EVERY other options is better then the p2w model.
