Additional 10% armor bonus for panther at vet3

The Panther currently has a frontal armor of 260,
at vet2 it get's a +10% armor bonus which put's it to 286.
The thing is Jackson's and SU85 at vet3 have a pen value of 286(max range). Making them be able to fully pen panther's from max range.
For SU85's no big deal you go in take a shot you back out, but Jackson's can chase you to oblivion penning every shot while moving at break neck speeds.
An Additional armor bonus of +10% would help the panther bounce a couple shots while either going in or retreating.

Because TDs job is to kill tanks and panther happens to be one.

Yeah but it's far more expensive compared to TD's so why should it not be able deflect max range shots from TD's when it's vet3???? Huh buddy???

Yeah, I got no answer for this btw.
I'd be nice for the panther to actually bounce a couple of shots at max range vs TD, comet does it to jp's and stugs(but that on is dirt cheap).

I’d just turn the Panther into a sniper FF with armour, with higher armour, lower hp, bad acceleration, bad turret traverse, better rof and accuracy. Apparently nobody likes that idea so...

Why not a Jackson with armor. It's seems mod team finds Jackson to be ok.
Thogh i did like your idea to make brums BBB free at the expense of it's regular shot range, would be quite interesting.

Half the reason,more 40 HP means can suffer one more shot by AT or normal panzer cannon,but 40HP also can be kill by PTRS when pierce or kill by bazooka or PIAT 2 shot not pierce

PANTHER CHANGES


Both Panthers are being standardized in reload and accuracy to improve performance; the health bonus at veterancy 2 has been shifted to the unit’s stock performance to improve its survivability against tank destroyers. Now possibly in its best spot yet.
• Wehr Panther fuel cost from 175 to 185
• Wehr far accuracy increased from 0.03 to 0.035
• HP increase from 800 to 960 (all variants)
• Front armour reduced to 260
• Veterancy 2 +160 HP bonus replaced by +10% armour bonus
• OKW Panther reload from 6.1 - 6.4 to 5.2 - 5.6
• Rear armour reduced from 110 to 90 (all variants)

17th May 2018 balance patch.

Permanently reduce the HP down to 800 and you can have it.

It's because it exchanged higher armour for health to make it more survivable against tank destroyers.

The health is much more powerful than the armour. I don't see why you'd want to revert that.

The Comet has 290 armor + 960 HP now + Cheaper. Why the fuck is that????? Don't bullshit me,
Stugs and Jaegs don't even have as much point blank pen.
