What's the best way to deal with maxim and zis spam in 2v2? Had both players make 3-4 of both units with loads of conscripts, we were able to get a majority of map before we drowned us in zis barrages and quick maxim setups to cover their flanks.

unfortunately, this is a really common strategy for soviets now. like gunshy said, your best bet early on is some mortars. this is countered by the soviet mortars precision strike though, so be sure to move them after each barrage. if you can hold on long enough, panzerwerfers absolutely destroy weapon team spam.

On the other hand, you can avoid precision strike by firing a barrage, then scooting after it's over. The 81mm mortar fires faster normally, but once you use barrage you can clear an enemy mortar before it can vet up.

Incendiary mortar shells screw things up a lot for us Soviets as well. I absolutely hate them. (in other words, use them, they're great)

10.5 cm plays merry hell with these kinds of strats, brummbars too. Flanking Panzers screw things up a lot. The greatest strength of the maxim/AT gun strat is having time to set up and prepare fields of fire + mines. Any kind of indirect fire (or even softening up attacks with inf maybe) which puts it out of joint begins to really tell.

too bad it wont come to that or in fact any t4 or late game unit , cause you ll be swamped with t3 units , and pg nades as well as riflenades rarely do the trick as the time it takes for a replacement gunner to come is negligible and not nearly enough for the squad to rise

Im a bit concerned about indirect fire options between the factions.

Id prupose that Stug get a Barrage similar to ZiS, but perhaps with only 3 shots of the same potency as 3 from ZiS. Same cost, same stats.

As a way to asymmetrically shift some indirect fire to Ost, as well as making Stug a bit more useful, as it really is struggling a bit, but cant really be improved with simple AI or AT damage.

Also so they are on the same cooldown set with Target Weakspot, to avoid exploiting both AI and AT abilities, simultaneously.

Unfortunately Smoke doesnt really work like that. All it takes is one model on the other side of the smoke and EVERYTHING can see you and will autofire on you.

So mostly Smoke is a defensive tool. If used offensively, you need to place it in the middle ground, ahead of all his models, and ahead of your own too. But that also means you cant see them either thriugh the middle ground.

The "True Sight" system is a bit flawed in this sense, since all vision is shared, rsther than being "true" to each individual units actual sight.

Good idea, but doesnt "work" the way you present it as.

That must be why every Ost fields 3xMHT. Oh wait.
How can you even exaggerate like this. Full potato mode.
