The Thompson note says it only effect Paratroopers, but it actually effects the Vehicle Crew Upgrade as well, because they actually use the same Thompson.

You may want to add that info since it's not widely known.

M5 mine: The paratrooper support squad also get access to the mine, which makes the commander maybe a bit more desirable.

Thompsons and B.A.R.s are still meh this patch, sadly. I have tried both and both are ineffective in dealing with late game axis inf. The only nice change was with the pak howi, rifle scaling, conscript scaling, and removal of deep snow and blizzards. :foreveralone:

The specifics of the obsmode improvements aren't well documented in the patch notes. Here are the big ones that I noticed today:

  • The minimap is much bigger! :banana:
  • The wrong-color-VP-bar bug is fixed :banana:
  • The graphs (army, float, territory) scale to higher amplitudes so info isn't cropped :banana:
  • The UI scales perfectly w/ the center control box & no longer overlaps the commander cards :banana:
  • There is a new "Ctrl-G" hotkey that toggles the unit shields display o_O might be useful in big teamgames


It seems that we still can't see "all chat" :( and I'm not sure if the UI tells us who won at the end of the game or not. I haven't gotten a chance to test if the "observer mode party" unit slowdown bug was fixed. I'll update here when I know more.

Overall, I'm thrilled. Having a bigger minimap and a properly scaling UI is huge win.
