They have seperate teams working on seperate things. Just because they're making a campaign doesn't also mean they don't have a team working on optimization.


Well, that's not that bad then.

Another big thing is going to be announced Friday.


Hope that it is something related to multiplayer.

Also thank you for clarifying it.

Hmm, well I guess a GOOD campaign definitely doesn't hurt for the newer players etc and making more customers + people familiar with the game.

But that there is still no work into observer mode is just a joke as it was one of the main objectives when the game was just in development. How do they expect their game to ever improve in popularity? Or is what they really only interested in fast 1 time sales, no customer/community binding whatsoever?

It's just a shame to see what has become of the greatest RTS of all times.

IMHO a good SP campaign is a good choice now. The MP part of the game has enough content to sustain itself (aside from some requested technical features). Relic is not charity and additional MP content if paid would be described as p2w by the community and could potentially break the steadily ongoing balance process.

The exact date November 18th will be the 2-year anniversary of the launch of COH2.ORG and the first episode of SNF S4. We remember that Sunday in 2012 very well!

Sure, but a good sp camapign doesn't keep the game alive. And the multiplayer doesn't only need some technical features it has many buggs and other issues that need to be fixed before they release something new.

I wish they announce some multiplayer-related news on Friday. Not quite sure what it could be (don't think the new armies coming any time soon), but it would be nice to see new additions to the multiplayer.

I'd love to see a German campaign.

My concern is that they'll either give us a short campaign, or make it with just one faction (like only OkW, and no ostheer/wehr), like in coh1, the only wehr mission there was the Tiger ace, which i can't call a campaign.

I'd like to see a German campaign it would be fun to play you do not get to play as Germans much but the new campaign features sound interesting I hope that people who own Western front armies get it for free or adleast at a reduced price

Let me guess, this is going to be another $20 add-on DLC... Why the heck would I give Relic another cent, given that they still haven't fixed War Spoils. Relic isn't getting anymore money from me unless it's an entire new faction (that ISN'T German), but even then I would hesitate before making the decision.

While the announcement was pretty dull, this will likely make Relic a lot of money. WFA added about 3-4k new players to the game, and many of them are likely interested in single player content. The campaign offers new players the opportunity to learn the game mechanics and unit functions in an environment that is a little more interesting than a comp stomp. The campaign will help the community grow in the long run, I started out playing the vCOH campaign in 2008. Not everyone is comfortable jumping directly into multiplayer. The community at coh2.org is focused almost exclusivly on the competitive multiplayer side of the game, but Relic has more fans to cater to than just that. It is a solid business decision.

That being said, there are soooo many basic game features that have been put on hold for far too long. These need to be a priority, and I'm not sure Relic sees them as such.


Really agree we get pretty focused that the only CoH population is competitive multiplayers but their is a large crowd who only play the single player, chase all achievements, play skirmish and love the TOW challenges on general difficulty.

I was shocked to find friends who only play skirmishes!
