Added the link to your games vs. NoLuckyStrike from SNF S04E05. That was one of my favorite Sundays of the entire Season. Seeing you, Bjarkey, and NoLuckyStrike come out of the blue and upset great players like DevM, Sepha, Freestyler, KoreanArmy, and Barton was a real treat.

I appreciate the responses to my comment. I was implying that I would rather win with my strength alone. I don't want my opponent's help. It's a personal preference, and of course not something I would impose on anyone else.

I completely get what you're trying to say, but when you think about it...every win involves mistakes at some level your opponent has made. The more satisfying way to win (IMHO) is when your opponent has the advantage and you outplay him at that point on when the odds are against you.
To each his own.

T-CUP = Thinking clearly under pressure. If the French team (the best team) had hung onto that maxim in the last RWC, they would be World Champions.....just sayin'

Given how there are two people in a 1vs1 game you can't win based on your strength alone and to think you can is overwhelmingly stupid.

When you play well you set yourself in a position where a strike that would, with luck, do medium damage, will instead do more damage. If I force my opponent into holding a clumped up defensive line by his cutoff because of my constant aggression, and then wipe 3 squads with a single good howie shot, does that make me lucky? Maybe, but if he had been playing better he wouldn't have been in that bad spot. A good player makes his opponent look bad and forces mistake. (distracting someone with artillery and flanks to wipe a squad on the far end of the map could for example be seen as your opponent making a mistake, but it was brought on by how you played and outmaneuvered him)
In general, I think people too often see mistakes as something brought on by the mistake maker, and disregard what an influence the opponent had in the making of that mistake.

I assumed that was a given and didn't need to be stated. I was referring in particular to the difference between skill, luck, and other outside influences.

I had a similar realisation back in the days when I was playing Counterstrike. I had installed some sort of skin for the M249 (the machine gun), not sure what it was, but it felt pretty bad ass. For people not familiar with Counterstrike: the machine gun was a rather gimmicky weapon. It had a huge magazine (100 rounds) but was unwieldy and inaccurate, so not much used.
And there I was holding this bad ass gun in my hand and going RAMPAGE through the map. I just thought I was holding an über-gun in my hand and felt invincible. And in these rounds, I really was.
I'm not sure where I was going with this anecdote. Maybe that bad ass skins make you a better player...
