Relic's "Western Front Armies" join Company of Heroes 2

WHY AMERICAN?? WHY THE WESTERN FROUNT!??!
I strongly feel that relic needs to take a step back and look at the original CoH2 trailer 'a new warfare experince' not the old one just altered. Why cant they add something from the eastern front. There is other contries that fought on the eastern front (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia) why not add these, this will give us different units and something which is more historically accurate. (as far as I know the americans never fought along side the soviets, or soviets in the western frount or american on the eastern frount) they should leave the western frount alone they have already done this very well. Please avoid having the soviets and americans playing on the same maps togther.
I feel that Relic will just give the VCoH american a brush up and give us the same as in VCoH with commanders like CoH2 this seems to me as they are just out to get more money with little work. Try spending some time make CoH2 balcanced and make something worthwhile which people will be more accpeting to pay for.
If Rellic are really going to mess the game up why not throw in brits, Japanease,Chinese, French, Italian. Really open up the stratagies.....
If you want to go back to the western front why not make a whole new game.

I really like the idea of new factions, this really opens up the types of stratagies and NEW units. But....

Americans are more interesting than countries that in comparison made a relatively small impact in the war. Collectively those other countries made a difference, but any one of them by itself cannot compare with the US, UK, USSR, Germany, or Japan.
That said I would've rather seen another conflict, USA in Europe is getting old. The Pacific, Korea, Vietnam, or even modern warfare would've been a nice change of pace.

I agree. They could easily do world war 2 in africa. Or a different conflict. But i would prefer to have some historical arcurracy.

Who says they won't do Africa or other theaters, hmmm? Hopefully this is just the beginning.
That's what i wanted to say also. After only 1 year we getting this, who knows what will follow next! 5 year plan they said, remember?

Why bother fixing the game your player base has already paid for? Its much simpler to take that name recognition and re-release some crap thats already been done instead of fixing whats been released and creating a solid foundation to release further expansions on.
IF your going to ignore all the current issues with the game and add a whole new layer of complexity to a system thats already kicking your developers asses why oh god WHY release the same content as Vcoh? If I wanted to play western front as americans I would go play Vcoh as its a superior game in every way (except graphics) to Coh2.
How about Italy? How about Africa? How about Japan? Nah lets just do normandy and the battle of the bulge all over again. Again. This game is suffering form sequel syndrome badly and you are not doing anything to distinguish it from its predecessor. A failing in alot of sequels.
I am starting to feel like an abused spouse here. I love company of heroes 2. I loved Vcoh. Despite fresh outrages every couple weeks I keep coming back and trying to make it work. Much like an abusive relationship the compromise has been all one way. As soon as I can stomach the latest nerf and think up a way to win despite your best efforts BAM! a new set of obstacles are thrown in front of me. Much like a long suffering abused spouse I have lost all joy with this relationship. Its just tiring now to have to re-learn the game all over again every time your mood changes. I keep loading the game up out of habit and a fading sense of fun that used to come with the process of playing. All the joy is gone and I just play from habit. Couple games before bed. I might as well play Candy Crush. At least the rules dont change every couple weeks and I know what each item is capable of.
Cheers

P.S. Haven't seen this game for a while: We still have here the constant 100 popcap?

I feel that in this case Relic wants money for something that modders could've just as easily achieved, probably even in less time, if they hadn't disabled modding. I mean, that was one of the things people were talking about so much in the beginning of CoH2, a "Western Front" mod to port the vCoH armies to CoH2.
They could've had so many other factions like others listed - Finland, Ukraine, ... or one set on a theatre that wasn't visited prior - Pacific with either Japan vs Russia or Japan vs US or even both. That would be so much more interesting than just regurgitating vCoH

Add in Africa and Italy ... British troops .... Italian tankettes would be cool for the early and mid game.

What I was really hoping for was a presentation completely rethinking their marketing of commander DLC, which, lets be honest, is what is really preventing growth and will continue to do so.
As an american fanboy in vCoH, this announcement is certainly the next best thing. The fact gets me hyped enough to disregard the depressing nature of CoH DLC.
Indeed and agreed!
Have many hundreds of game time hours with coh2,but finally gave up. And this strikes me as the one reason why I stopped playing and went back to vcoh. Just couldn't get my head around the commander dlc bonanza - all together it is just to much.
A step in the right direction though.

The Western Front had winter too. It got cold there as well. I hope they don't make all the maps summer and just forgot about Cold Tech.

I don't mind the expansion, but I just hope they don't get away from the winter effects COH2 brought in. I know that not everyone agrees, but I like how you have to change up your tactics when a snow storm blows in. Adapt or die, it's war.

Hmm agreed, but it's just a pain in the ass, not only for gameplay but also for PC's.
Not everyone has a 1000$ graphic card and the vast majority hates it when that blizzard comes in and ruin the smoothness.
You have to take every aspect in regard, not only the 'coolness'.
I just think the blizzards are not well designed, also they take waaaay to long sometimes.
