Even small Tripwire studio can afford to make a map contest with 30,000$ in prize pool, but Sega\Relic can't?

Even if the prices werer higher, i do not think the maps would be better. The talent is not dependent on the price. And last but not least, i would rather see relic to invest in replay and casting tools, this is where money should be invested imho.

Keep in mind that this is largely a community made event with support from Relic but it was not their initiative. We're thankfull for their contribution and help that they give/will give but as far as money goes, this is community funded. As awa59noob says, people who really enjoy making maps will make them no matter what they get for it. At this point in the game, it is indeed better if Relic invests in other domains.
