Thanks for the warning. I guess I'm just not cool enough nor hilariously original for this forum? KAPPA.
I suppose this design flaw truly is a broken feature, then? And no, im not talking about people still finding 'Kappa' and 'MVGame' hilarious enough to use outside of Twitch.
I don't think I would put it that way. Something involving the word "pretentious" might be fitting though.
And no, as was explained to you it isn't a design flaw or a broken feature.
The first step is not to let them wire it up, failing that use an at gun + attack ground.

Reading this thread its kinda funny that the idea of zooks vs heavy armor is deemed unfair. Yet no one talks about how shreks plink off the front of an IS-2. -Atleast in games they do for me. zooks in the game are built for medium armor, though at its current state not many German players can or do build medium armor where as shreks (used for same purpose) face an abundance of medium armor because the allied mediums are actually worthwhile to get and use - as well as plentiful. I think a root issue is not zooks or shreks but rather the well relic has designed the tanks in the game.
-Tanks should have more than 2 hitboxs....there should be side armor, lower front plate armor, rear armor, and so on for it would make things alot better. Again just my 2 cents
That sounds good, except the data seems to have something else to say (unless I have an incorrect understanding of figuring penetration):
Zook vs panther front at max range = 34% chance to pen
Shreck vs IS-2 front at max range = 42% chance to pen
And just for fun. Zook vs KT at max range = 25% chance to pen
This in conjunction with the fact that a panzershreck is more likely to even hit the target.

2). If one person is considered good and the other sees them as being good then that said person is either inherently better or worse than the good player. That is the logic that i stated.
3). micro can nullify the advantages of cons/rifles but also can bolster them. Thus back to ^^ logic
So let me get your "logic" straight, Person A is considered good.
Thus Person B is EITHER better or worse than his opponent.
That is exactly what you didn't say in your first post, You alluded to player B being "bad soviets".

I agree with CieZ's Points. Why must everyone cry axis OP all the time and at every point in which someone makes the argument that allies do have capable units.
That isn't what is happening here.
Nobody is crying axis OP, but it is worth taking into consideration that demo charges are a fantastic (and cost effective) counter to some axis units. I have no problem with making changes, but I would much prefer to see demos stay capable of blob busting and unit baiting.
First off faust is only on falls for OKW. Ostheer have faust on Grens. Cons do win against volks if you play them right just as the volks can win against cons if played right. You invalidated your own argument with "good OKW" for then it would also imply a "bad soviet"; see what I am saying?
First of all, that isn't how english works. One player being good is not mutually exlusive to both players being competent. I think his point was just that the allied early game advantage is not universally applicable, as good micro can help to nullify the advantages cons/rifleman have over volks/grens.
In any case, it looks to me like this thread is drifitng off the topic of DEMO CHARGES.

You've always been able to detonate demos even when they're detected and being "swept" up by the pio squad. It's super bullshit.
Just the entire fact that demos are some kind of super mine able to erase squads it poor design. Maybe if they could be shot with small arms... MAYBE then they would be okay. I'd prefer to see them used as a building denial/anti-bunker tool but the way they are right now is far from fair or balanced.
To those going "HERP DERP HOW 2 COYNTER AXIS OP INFANTRY LATE GAME LOLOLOL"
The Allies have a ridiculous number of good AI tools at their disposal including, but not limited to:
1 - Amazing AI tanks (Sherman, Scott, T34/85, Is-2)
2 - Soviet snipers
3 - 0.50 cal HMG/Maxims
4 - Paratroopers - by far the strongest infantry squad in the game when equipped with M1919s.
5 - Double BAR rifles (beat vet 3 LMG grens with ease when also vet 3).
6 - Indirect fire options such as: Katy, Pack Howi, 120mm mortar
Of course Cons can't stand up to Obers, and on the flip side of the coin Grens/Volks can't stand up to Shocks. Fact of the matter... at the top levels, Allies have advantages at every point in the game.
Easy Killer, pointing out that demos are a useful tool for countering massed shrek blobs and ober supersoldiers isn't what I would consider synonymous with "HERP DERP HOW 2 COYNTER AXIS OP INFANTRY LATE GAME LOLOLOL".
1 - Because the axis have no AI vehicles right?
2 - Sure.
3 - are you serious? Obers will decrew a 50 cal head on.
4 - can you back that up?
5 - As they should. What do double bars do to elite OKW infantry?
6 - Because the axis has no indirect fire right?
All of this is beside the point, Demos reward good play, and punish lazy play. And I feel like that is a good thing. |

I think the problem is a bit overstated here.
Demos as they are now are a fantastic tool, they fill a good gap in the allied inferiority to axis units (namely obers, falls, and volks blobs)
They reward good placement, baiting, and timing. (which I feel is a good thing)
I would really hate to see them nerfed to the point that they are only useful against buildings and bridges.
I do feel though that it would be a completely reasonable to have minesweepers within range disable the charge. |
Sorry, but elite vehicle crew upgrade by far holds the title of most useless ability in the game. by far!
I think Napalm would disagree with this sentiment.
I have personally witnessed an upgraded vehicle crew send a pgren squad packing without breaking a sweat. |
I must be looking at the wrong stats (please correct me if I am)
But from everything I can find, the OKW and Ost panthers are identical in all but 3 stats.
Scatter > Distance:
OST 10
OKW 8
Reload Duration
Ost 5.8 - 6.7
OKW 6.1 - 6.4
And Wind down (can someone explain to me what that is?)
OST 0
OKW 1
The Ostheer panther is still a great tank, and I find it ridiculous to claim that it isnt. |
How do you stop them from closing,ur gren DPS is not enough to wipe out squads attempting to close and u don't have a close range grenade. On top of that there are maps.Reason that i only use g43 doctrines these days, even then results are avg at best. You can't tiptoe around the problem of huge MP disparity in teching no matter how much u try.Ostheer is the weakest faction allround, not many will dispute this fact.
That really is the purpose of mgs.
We are in agreement that ost is the weakest faction, but it isn't because grens are wholly incapable of fighting rifles. If properly micro'd they can and will win.
The first problem is that rifles will generally not take anywhere near enough damage to have to retreat, as they charge entrenched grens. This is compounded by the fact that the Heer MG is just plain ineffective against rifles. With equal micro, two rifles will beat a gren and an MG almost every time, because the MG won't suppress the rifles before they manage to flank. Again, most of the time it isn't about the Heer player "letting" the rifles get close.
The second problem is that rifles are extremely competitive with Grens at range; Grens have a slight advantage, but nothing remotely like the rifles' advantage close up.
If your mg gets flanked, you didn't mg correctly. It seems that the only points you have are that if you get out-played you lose. That is the way it is supposed to be, and wouldn't be much of a game without it.
And I am not sure how much clearer I could make it, grens win v rifleman at range. Do what you have to do to keep them away. This is literally no different to keeping a jackson at range to a kt, it is the exact same concept.
Using units to their strengths is the ENTIRE point of the game. |
