Obers with StG's lose at mid range and long range. They only have 3.6 DPS at max range with their IR StG 44's while Para's do 9.7 DPS per 1919 at max range.
Much to learn you have.
You should always seek for green cover, and when you fight mid range+green covver Paras 1919 vs Obers STG, Obers will melt Paras.
When you fight long-range, battle is almost equal.
Paras will win when fighting out of cover, but behind cover Obers win. |
Paras with 1919s will beat any Axis infantry unit head on and win fairly easily.
Ask Obers with STGs which win at medium range and are equal to 1919 Paras at long range (of course unvetted cause with vet they melt everything). |
Im picking Sturmtiger if I get schwerer and 2 obers (no need for Jaegers or Fusiliers then).
And I did that in last 3 games.
Trois-Ponts.
Lierneux.
Dont remember third one.
Games were mostly even or with our slighty advantage.
But once Sturmtiger hits the field, it was devastatiing for enemies.
Constant radio signal ON to spot vehicles on mini-map, and shooting them with ST.
True horror for enemies.
Last one was amazing.
2 SU76s keeping away teammate's PzIV and holding last VPs.
ST fires, both die, surrender. |
If he let his SU-85 which is able to scout for itself get 1 shot from the front by a Sturmtiger he deserved it.
If you see recon plane and you don't move your units, you deserve to lose squads due to B-4.
Sounds similar.
Or if you here a sound of B-4 and you don't move your units, you deserve to lose them. |
Oh wow. I wasn't aware of that.
ST will kill Sherman, Railway won't.
Or if you put 5 rifles squads next to each other in the shape of cross, ST will kill 9 models (middle squad wiped and few models from rifles around).
If you di the same with railway, 800mm shell will wipe middle squad but it won't touch any squad around.
So... 380mm is more powerful than 800mm which is XXX kilos heavier |
Not to mention 1 CP further delays the already limited window of usefulness. And a 0 CP call-in out be hard to balance IMO due to cut-off rushing gayness that would almost certainly be abused.
It does its job well enough for its insanely low cost. I think part of the problem is that a lot of players are gotten so used to the MG42 that its hard to tolerate the 34 (though OKW with MG42 would be kinda OP I think). It doesn't help that the Kubel is a weird unit that has a limited window of usefulness and is kind of worthless because of 1. Stupid 100% Main Gun Destroyed Crit by small arms fire bug 2. Probably the most retarded pathing in the game
Point is that 1CP for Kubel as suppress platform is too much.
On the other hand 0CP and HMG in HQ + SP would be devastating for enemy. 2 suppression platforms in the first minute + SP would be really, really hard to deal with. |
I was raised on RTSes when there was not anything about capping. Just pure strategy battle. And those games were not designed like this pic. I mean, none faction had great early-game but shit lat game, or weak early-late but powerful middle.
All factions were balanced somehow with weak early game units which could be upgraded or which could be replaced by late-game units, so you are not forced to win quick cause you will struggle late game cause of lack of late-game units.
Classic mirror design, and guess what, those were best RTS I have ever played.
Witch such design you won't find balance problems like CoH2 has.
Just for example, Cossacks 1. Best RTS ever, even if it has almost mirror factions.
Battle for middle-earth. Another great example.
Or Warlord Battlecry III. Over 15 factions but almost none balance problems casue all of them have early/mid/late game units.
Same thing with AoE series or EE.
Even old but gold Empire at War shows how rock-paper-scissors design should work.
But that's just my opinion that mirror desing is a way better for balance and if done right, it won't make game boring. |

Kubelwagen to Luftwaffe and Fortification commanders, MG34 to Battlegroup headquarters.
That's not best idea, unless you change Kubel to something similar during alpha. |
Yeah sometimes it leaves 1 model left!
Or the shells will miss or hit the ground somewhere in the middle.
Still, 1 model is enought to run and save veterancy.
Because old ISU was balanced right?
No idea why are you taling about old ISU
Are you seriously salty that blobbers get vaporized by Sturmtigers lol
Blobbers? I hardly call a blobber someone who, for example, put MG, AT Gun behind it, and advance with shocks. 3 units on a small area but definetly not a blob.
It has 70 range, shot blocker shooting versus raw range is map dependent.
Sure, it has 70 range but it won't wipe your entire army from FoG and probably it won't do anything to tanks since it's better to keep it with HE.
If he sticks it covering a vital point you need...?
So why would you use infantry? Bait it with inf and advance with Tank, or opposite, bait with tank and then infantry. Use commanders' abilities to push it back. Simple red smoke is more than enough to make to move. |
