They are designed around being cannon-fodder. This can lead to some problems later on versus upgraded axis troops. I think it would be cool if there was an upgrade (similar to the Molotov, AT-nade upgrades... maybe 200mp, 50 fuel) that increased their squad size by two members. This upgrade could be tied to T3/T4 to not come too early. Russians revolving around MGs the same way as the Germans is unrealistic and copy-paste design. This would be my suggestion although as others have said it should come with a reduced reinforce cost as well. Increased squad size and cheaper reinforce would allow Cons to simply outlast enemy squads without needing the major DPS increase associated with a weapon upgrade. Not to mention it would also increase the value of merge late game and play into the theme of Cons being numerous and cheap infantry who aren't particularly elite. One other suggestion to help Cons late game would be to replace trip wire flares with a passive ability at vet2 that increases their accuracy or decreases their received accuracy when behind cover similar to what Ostruppen have. That way when late game infantry dps starts to get out of control due to vet combined with munitions upgrades Cons can still keep up as they gain vet themselves albeit at a cost of mobility. Thread: Vet abilities - Penals - Zeal17 Mar 2015, 20:43 PM I believe relic did away with zeal on conscripts (and focus fire on grens) because they originally wanted vet abilities to be utility oriented instead of combat oriented. That and those two abilities encouraged players to use them every single fight. Since the AA armies have changed that dynamic zeal would make an excellent passive vet ability for Penals. It really plays to their theme of suicide troops. In: COH2 Balance

Some british commander abilities and that's it. Why do i think this? Notice it only says "british commander pack" it the game files, along with OKW, Soviet, Wehrmacht and USF commander packs. There is no 3rd axis faction mentioned. And having 3 allied factions but only 2 axis factions while plausible, i dont think its going to happen. If I was a betting man I would bet that the British are going to be released in the same fashion as the AA factions. First a commander will be released for one of the existing factions showcasing a British unit or two, then a month or two later we'll get the faction proper. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: What are you expecting from the British Army?15 Mar 2015, 14:51 PM The Brits suffered from a real manpower shortage during the war which resulted in a combat doctrine that was focused on minimizing casualties whenever possible. It might be interesting if the Brits in game received reduced manpower but had ways to recoup it and/or convert munitions/fuel for more similar to how OKW works right now with fuel. They could get a casualty clearing station like in vcoh, for example, but instead of producing zombie tommies it would provide manpower for every casualty collected. In: COH2 Gameplay

With the allies starting in the south what should have been an easy victory turns into an epic slug fest. Unconventional commander choices from both sides and impressive off map coordination on the axis side make this a highly entertaining game. I've never seen zeroing arty come down so fast before!
