Allied fanboys really need to get head out of ass. Much needed imo. The problem isn't that the bofors locks down territory (it should), it is that currently the bofors is killing any infantry squads that get near it within one or two short bursts. In: COH2 Balance

The centaur seems to be pretty good at killing paks and reketen frontally. I'd like to play more games against it before I make any judgments but I can see that being a problem if it becomes a trend. Thread: Brace5 Sep 2015, 01:53 AM The issue with brace isn't the damage reduction. The issue is that the window of vulnerability after brace is used is too small. Brace should counter offmap arty and rocket barrages when timed correctly but the fact that there is only a 15 second period of vulnerability between when brace expires and when it can be used again leaves little opportunity for the aggressor to then counterattack and eliminate the structure permanently. I suspect brace will be in a better place in the balance mod where the window of vulnerability is 90 seconds instead of 15. Edit: Just remembered the cooldown timer starts when you use brace not when it expires. So currently brace has a 100% uptime and after the balance mod it will effectively have a 1 minute cooldown. It doesn't change the argument though: there needs to be a large enough period of vulnerability after brace expires for the aggressor to counterattack. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: balance preview mod rifle buff5 Sep 2015, 01:29 AM I will reserve judgement on the actual balance of the 25% received accuracy for when I've had a change to play with and against it but it does seem odd for rifles to get such a huge bump in survivability upon hitting vet 3 compared to their other levels of veterancy. It may be better to space the upgrade out between vet 2 and vet 3 (10% at vet 2 and 15% at vet 3) so that rifles scale more organically into the late game and won't bleed as badly if they haven't vet 3 yet. It still fires faster than the soviet mortar. Soviet mortar takes 10.625 seconds (7.5 reload/2.125 windup/1.0 winddown) to fire a round while the Wher mortar will take 8 (4.0 reload/2.0 windup/2.0 winddown) seconds after the patch. Wher mortar has a bit more scatter than the Sov mortar to make up for this though (10 vs 8). In: Lobby
