it should be taken into account, for instance the elefant is hardly OP on its own as a call in but if you were to put it in a doc with tiger call ins and storm trooper call in well that would be OP becuase of such a great array of elite units you can call in.

Or SU having T34/85 callin with IS-2 and KV8 and shocks and guards all in one commander.

Point number 2, why do you think SU and Wehr for instance barely use any commanders with no heavy tanks...because the other abilities aren't enough to compensate for the opportunity cost (a little econ term ) of passing up Tigers/Elefants.


Bottom line, entire commander array of abilites has to be considered as well as base army in deciding if ability is OP or not. Its why I don't think P47 is OP because USA needs to have a doctrine that greatly boosts AT capabilities as that is the core weakness of their base army...but thankfully for them the commander comes with great AB infantry call ins.

I was thinking about those completely useless Ostheer and SU commanders made in early CoH2 time which we all know and make fun of.

i think 270/30 is not too much for forward reinforcing. and for 90mu or 120mu, i havent used it in a while, you get long range decent ai power and good aa power.

M5 quadmount is not bad at all, but we are still implying that the Soviet player goes T3.

Many Soviet players dont bother teching T3 or T4 at all, and if you go T4, then you dont have access to T3 AA.

I removed the m5 in a mod of mine for genuine Soviet gameplay, and i realized how stupidly minimum of AA soviets had when the AI spammed loitering planes.

Then i realized how stupid it is that Soviet AA capability in CoH2 is represented by a lend-lease American quadmount halftrack. However did the Soviets survive the Luftwaffe?

You see, PTRS are super rare and extremely hard to make, hence, Stavka wont allow you to get more if you lose any because you lose trust with Stavka.

I just realized that this is now possible with the power of modding. (In fact, ill probably mod this setup myself for fun after the fantasy faction is complete)
I chose the 120 mm mortar because it is super dangerous to blobs of infantry. Also, it has 6 men and can retreat with only one man.

@Hitman5: I also chose M1919's because the squad that has them can go into a static suppression mode and you can void requiring HMG's with them. I guess because all the other units are long range oriented - other than sturmpios - and the IR STG's balance out the need for close range support.

I believe the t34/85 callin has 800 health and *slightly* more armor than the regular t34. I guess i can mod about a T34/85 that is available after all tiers are built, and only has t34/85 gun stats (i guess for personal observation on how a scenario like that can play out).

But...

Its still ever so slightly better than the t34/76, and the problem with soviet tanks like these is that they are very identical, but the former would become never used even if it is only slightly weaker.

What one well-achieved characteristic of Ostheer teching is that the gap between teching for the panther and Panzer IV is pretty huge, and both tanks have noticeable differences. Unfortunately, T4 is viable at no point in a 1v1.

Soviet teching sucks that even if you bought the other final tier, getting anything for spending the unnecessary fuel feels like the improper way to award Soviets with a better tank. I just hate the Soviet tech tree.

In a mod, I made a KV-1 available after both T3+T4 are built, and even though i made it cost nearly as much as a panther, it had a pretty huge impact in the game, even with the extra fuel needed to achieve it (dat run-on). At least instead of a call in meta, one could save the fuel to tech to receive the KV-1 in that case.

But... In the reality, at least i would wish a Su-76 and T-70 switch, and the Su-76 made into a lite SU-85, but only good for destroying medium tanks. (I played around and made the su-76 as long of a reload as the puma, gave it 140-150-160 pen, but kept damage and survivability the same. I reduced range to 50, and made it cost a little more manpower.) With changes like that, i was satisfied that it more fit the role of a glass cannon without making the su-85 redundant.
