Unlike you I tend to understand and tolarate people. Maybe thats why I'm learing the things I do, meanwhile you are saying OCF planned and executed good.
I wont start a pissing contest but you should know that my criticism not comes from a non competetive player. I do have experience at lan and online tournaments with different kind of games(both as contestor and viewer). Ive been places too but I guess experience works in different ways.
If you start your argument with statements like you did about experience, you're not showing yourself as someone who wants to have a decent conversation about something. I tolerate people but I'm not fond of people who like to start pissing off people for no reason at all. Think about that next time you enter a forum and start quoting people who have been in the game and scene far longer than you.
I have never said the event was executed and planned perfectly, I leave that up to professionals as yourself. As I stated before I have not taken part in the organization of this event and I'm not saying it's all perfect. Long hours and exhausted casters are a factor in large scale tournaments, that's all. |
It was fine as it was
Maybe make it work like WP where Cold wounds but doesn't actually kill
Troll detected. |
I have to tell you that your comment is clearly lacks the experience at online tournaments.
Stopped reading there after 7 years of online tournament organizing, top tier tournaments in other games included. Gotta show some respect to people you don't know shit about son.
I've never said such long hours of playing and casting is a good thing, it's just that qualifiers can take a long time.
I did not take part in the organization of this tournament and I might have organized it otherwise, but this kind of long days is a fact in online tournaments. For more information, check out the casting and playtimes for CS:GO on Dreamhack or ESL One, including the online qualifiers. Please do check out the casters like TobiWan, Tosspot and Sadokist or Thorin. They are casting from morning until dawn - with pauses.
So please, if you're going to talking about experience to a guy with tons of experience and successful tournaments about something you clearly lack experience, get some more information first and we'll talk further. |
And with all due respect for your opinion, I respectfully disagree. Perhaps the lead up was great, but the way they handled the casting and the way that some people have to play for more than 10 hours straight, having their most important match of that day at the end of that 10 hour + playing window, was not that smart.
The lead up was great, that I do agree with that and that should most definitely be praised. However, last night was not. For example Hans had to play until 03:00 am, Korean army actually had to play until 8:46 am, he started at 00:00
They could have just made it a bit easier on them and let them finish a few games after some sleep.
Welcome to qualifiers for large tournaments . Unfortunately, that's the case in larger tournaments. Pauses are indeed a good option for the next time. |
Agreed.
The fact that Ami totally missed the game changing/winning blow by KoreanArmy vs Siberian was just really bad. Wasn't the first time nor the last time that he missed some important stuff. Unacceptable. Made me leave for Rogers's stream.
To my believe Luvnest should provide the image from the game, with Ami being 'second' caster. Not only will Luvnest see more, but his pc also has way better performance than Ami's.
Next to this, it just wasn't smart to let players play more than 10 hours in a row. This exhaustion also came back in Ami's casting. He totally missed important things, which is just unacceptable. Should have been done with breaks of at least half an hour or an hour in between and split up in between two days.
People payed money for this tourney, spent their hard earned money on providing this tournament with price money, should at least be handled professionally.
With all due respect for your opinion, but this tournament has been professionally executed.
Announcements, Stretch goals, all-star openings, quality streaming (if you don't like the casting, that's something else), hyping, in-game adds, large prizepool,.. While some might agree with the style of casting being not what they want, there is little to no discussion about the execution of the tournament itself. While I didn't play a large part in this cause of no time, I can vouch for the fact that this has been a very professional-looking tourney. |
Hey guys,
Every caster has his own style of casting. Some are very good in hyping people and providing humour, while others are very good in explaining the game and providing information.
OCF has a lot of coverage, so if you don't like one stream, you can easily go over to another and enjoy other streamers . |
Flamers on your main infantry isn't a good idea. Should be for specialized units as engi's or RE. (Luvnest words but I agree wholeheartedly) |
I was watching Marcus vs VonIvan yesterday and Marcus just didn't have a chance in the mid-later game fighting this commander. Constant pins, constant fly-overs, constant fuelconversion,..
The commander really needs to be addressed. |
actually keeping certain strong (but not obviously gamebreaking; obviously this can be kind of a gray area) units at their high powerlevel is not a bad idea from a gameplay and game design point of view.
Strong is something else than broken.. |
All these over nerfs and community "nerf wars" between each patch are getting ridiculous. Not just Relic but each passionate player are responsible for this with their IMBA shout; OMG Relic, nerf now or I'll uninstall COH2 mercilessly and tell my friends not to play.
Until Relic learn to successful patch this game without to many mess-ups, it's a better alternative to keep slightly OP units (fight broken with broken) within each faction rather than to start a never ending cycle of nerf wars.
With each Relic over nerf and the nerf war within the COH community it just start a new cycle of Relic rebalancing other units to compensate. It's ofc fine to have passion for this game. But please do not let personal frustrations intervene with the work from the more experience balance testers. No, I am not a balance tester but I try to keep personal frustrations to myself, I suggest you do the same.
Thank you and have a nice day, except maybe Barton (soap King)
Or fix.
What a post full of ******. Sorry but I really hope this is a troll.
If it's broken, fix it. Don't break something else. |
