Didn't see anything in Steam, changelog was put there yesterday but I didn't notice any patch then either?
Am I just stupid or did this not go live yet? |
Hardly get good use out of em. In theory they have a lot going for them but that's it for US armor. It's the toughest armored unit in the whole faction. It's really vulnerable to small mistakes, if you get unlucky it will die VERY quickly.
I'm going to have to try using them really, really defensively or something because when I try to be aggressive with em, unless I've got some huge fuel advantage and the enemy is way behind in tech it almost always dies. |
Played a game last night where the OKW player set up a fast med truck near our fuel and managed to force a retreat after they started reinforcing from it.
Is there any way to reliably deal with this before getting T3? Obviously based on the assumption that we couldn't prevent it setting up. I forget the name of the map but it's the one where you have like a church or something on a hill for the fuel on one side of the map. WFA map I believe.
We took a momentary breather to build up for a strong push and as soon as my AA HT arrived, we scouted the fuel but they'd actually maanged to get the Flak gun HT up and parked it on our fuel itself.
Now in this one instance we got unlucky and were in a really bad position for our attack to uproot them. i.e. My AA HT ran into where their flak truck was, and the OKW flak truck was where our flanking infantry were. Which is quite painful. Since they managed to keep us from our fuel it was a futile battle from that point on. However, what is the general method for dealing with this? The AT gun seems like the first unit we get that can really deal with their trucks effectively, especially the Flak truck which is capable of seriously damaging Shermans from the front. |
The 120 is powerful when it hits, but does not hit all that frequently. The LeIG is extremely accurate and faster firing. |
My 2v2s almost entirely revolve around getting the AAHT out and reversing into enemy lines with it. If you stop and think about this, it's incredibly silly. But realistically if I can't dominate the game early on, the probability of actaully being able to win plummets. |
Its performance needs to be more in line with the Pack howitzer, either by nerfing the leIG or by buffing the howi, or a small bit of both probably. But by nerfing an OP unit we will probably see OKW start to underperform againts weapon crews, blobs etc and may need to consider other changes too. |
I will say that I hate the design of core infantry all having AT nades more or less by default in the vanilla matchup. You get used to it, but I don't like it. |
Well we just played 3 games trying out the advice.
Crushed 2 opponents and lost horrifically to one. The victories didn't feel like proper ones though, in both cases we had extreme map control and were wiping squads like mofos. Not sure how good the other team really was. The one we lost, I had a series of brainfarts and bad luck; I had 2 units on the field 8 minutes in because I lost about 4 in 60 seconds at multiple locations. I just surrendered on the spot, lol. |
No 80-90 fuel would be too far. I like the proposal to switch it into T3, a lot of people have been floating it around these forums and it does make sense to me. The first HT is the problem, not the subsequent ones. Delaying it into T3 means a 30 fuel effective delay on the first one, giving you more time to get a counter out before it runs rampant. |
What is Captain's T2?
I think you mean T3. |
