This. Also ctrl+alt+deling solves the problem where you can't get back into the game window by alt-tabbing again and the mouse cursor doesn't activate the window.
I think the only thing that works vs OKW are the shock troops commanders. Anything else and you will just get crushed and blobbed to death against obers and volks.
T-34/85s are good, kind of, but the panther and 3-5 schrecks will pretty much always penetrate them so they are very weak for their cost against OKW.
Yeah they are hard to kill with AT. Paks have a hard time penetrating the IS2 like other factions against heavy armor since the IS2 armor got its armor buffed. I dream of their armor being lowered but in return they get more health so that my at guns will penetrate them but not kill them so quickly. But that is just a dream of mine I don't believe it would be good for the game.
Tanks don't need more health. Thanks to death crits, the tanks effectively have a HP increase worth 1-2 penetrating shots
Tanks have "Sidearmor". What people actually mean by saying they should get "Sidearmor" is that the Sidearmor should be weaker...
If a tank has a 50% chance to be penetrated from the front, and 100% from the rear... when the enemy hits "sidearmor" from 90° it has a 75% chance to penetrate. I don't see how that is not Sidearmor?
There's only front and rear armor in this game. Half of the tank is front armor, half is rear. Even from the sides.

How about making the soviet sniper team 1 model only? That thing is very durable even at vet 0 and the vet 1 sprint ability even adds up to that. Unless you get a lucky stray mortar hit, you can't really kill it. I've seen it survive tiger shells exploding right next to it. Meanwhile, the ostheer sniper isn't basically used at all because of how weak it is.
Lately, next to all the other balance problems, I have the feeling that the IS-2, King Tiger and Panther are too overpowered. Not by gun or speed, but by armour. It's just plain stupid. I had a multiple games (unfortunatly I don't have the replays) where my P-4s tried attack the rear and bounced 7 times, before it penetrated once.
Yeah, I agree. I'm fine with heavy frontal armor, but side armor (significantly weaker) should be introduced. And rear armor (significantly weaker than side armor) as well. It would actually reward flanking tactics, say a regular T-34/86 vs King tiger would at least have a chance to do something. It would also promote supporting your valuable heavy tanks with AT guns and overextending would get punished a lot better.
However, for this to happen the vehicle pathing should also be improved dramatically so that the vehicles don't start spinning 180 or 360 when you order a simple movement command.
You can't unlock any USF commanders by gaining XP. Only by War spoils or of course buying them. I think all commanders should be unlockable via XP, some of them are still literally pay to win.
It's a doctrinal unit though, I sometimes find the 120mm missing most of its shots. Honestly, Soviets need a 120mm since the mainline Sov mortar is horrendous.
This is a pretty bad excuse since it comes with one of the best soviet doctrines. Imo it would be counterable if it's range wasn't so huge. On some maps, especially when the thing gets veterancy you can't counter it.
I don't think something like that should be part of an RTS game - a base building that defends at best a VP, a muni and a fuel point basically on it's own or with very little support on some maps.
To destroy it, you have to throw basically everything you have at it. In return, the OKW player can control a wide area with it with no effort at all, freeing up all of his units to fight elsewhere. It's unfair.
