Both of them sre very equal to each other although CE are slightly better (because 170mp unit is more expensive than a 200mp unit). One has higher dps while the other has more men.

Soviets need access to all their tiers like, while cheese strats get punished in return. Penal Troops under cover of Mortar Smoke could make short work of an Axis entrenchment. The M3 Scout Car could require T1 and T2 to build, but both cost less. T3 and T4 could be slashed as well but perhaps require Molo + AT Nade, or some other teching 'gate' so they don't come too early. Some units in T3 and T4 could get looked at as well.
Americans I'm not sure, it's another situation where Relic designed themselves into a corner. The M4 Sherman in-game is designed as an Infantry Tank. But the concept of an Infantry Tank does not mend well in CoH2's design. Only the KV-8 gets away with it because of high durability + high offensive ability. So the M4 is seldom used, and M36 or E8's are spammed instead.
As far as US Tank Doctrine, the problem is we used Tanks to support Infantry, and only brought Tank Destroyers in when we met Armoured Resistance. The problem with that is CoH2 is far too small scale to adequately portray that. In CoH2 the chances you'll face armoured resistance are 100% unless you're winning by a huge margin. Therefore, Tank Destroyers are always going to be the go-to option. And with the M8 playing the role of infantry-killer, the Sherman is left without much of a role or purpose. |
If they allow a Pershing, they should disable decrewing vehicles and the M36. To compensate, they should include Assault Engineers (combat repair) and M10s (Tank Destroyers) in the Pershing tree.
Edit: Just to be clear, choosing Pershing doc would disable vehicle crews and M36's. They'll still be available as normal with any other doctrine. |
Yeah in CoH1 if you lost too much in the early game, there was no reason to play any longer. Even in CoH2 I've seen people drop after losing a couple engagements in the early game. |
My main problem with it is, using Semoisky Winter as an example, you can start Top and just take FHQ the building next to your opponent's fuel. Now he has to decide between potentially over-extending himself to try and get your fuel, or trying to destroy the FHQ and get his back. |
Except for some reason the P4 has more armor than the T34, which is retarded since it's a paper box tank
I wouldn't mind if the Panzer IV traded some of it's armour for better penetration. |
The Panzer IV and T-34/76 both have 120 Pen at close range. At max range it's 100 / 80, minor advantage to the Panzer IV. |

Easy Eight might be at its place. Then that´s one reason more that the Panther needs a buff.
And the Panzer IV and M4C and maybe T-34/85. That or E8 is over-performing for 135 fuel |
We believe the issue is strongly rooted in the structure of the dispatch system rather than the unit itself which is performing as intended. There are changes in the pipeline being tested now, we will provide more detailed information once we are more confident it's the right direction to take.
I hope you keep in mind the massive performance gap between the Easy Eight and the M4C or Panzer IV, despite the price similarities. |
