I have had great success using the B4 artillery against Tiger blobs in 3 v 3's but it relies heavily on your other two teammates to force them to retreat in to repair. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Shocktroops at 1CP17 Dec 2013, 21:16 PM I really like taking some of these comments about Shock Troops and replacing them with the word King Tiger. Shock Troops can be countered. I know because I've played them since day 1. Shock Troops DPS can only be applied when they are within their optimal range. Deny them the range so they cannot apply their damage. Drag them out, lure them into a MG42, sniper, G43 squad in cover, etc etc. Completely ruin the squad by using a flame half track and follow the squad in retreat back into the base. In: COH2 Balance

I get this now. My proposal/issue was unclear and comparing it to a dedicated tank killer was unjust. In the current game with all the DLC commanders I question the need for the Soviets to have another generalist unit, especially one with such a high cost. The Soviets have two dedicated anti armor units, the ZiS (although one could argue that with the light artillery) and the SU85. This leaves a significant gap in late game anti armor capabilities. The ISU-152 could alleviate this with some stat adjustments such as additional penetration. Another idea would be to remove the concrete shot and replace it with a anti armor shot. Keeping with the historic side of things the anti armor shot ability would align. In: COH2 Balance

Also germans can retreat their infantry after and use a Elephant to snipe it from across the map. The glory days of the RAM are over. The ISU-152 has low suitability when compared to the IS/2 or Elephant. On top that, it costs more. There are plenty of ways to counter it effectively without having to resort to shenanigans that are all to common for taking out an Elephant or King Tiger. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: ISU-15210 Dec 2013, 01:01 AM Penal squads with a satchel charge also destroy tanks when used correctly. It doesn't mean they excel at it by any means. This unit has an identity crisis and needs to be corrected to reflect what it's true role is. Sounds like that is up for debate. When comparing it to the IS-2 it has A) worse armor B) costs more fuel C) has the same damage D) has lower penetration E) is far less mobile F) slower reload time. IS/2 has nearly the same splash damage with only .5 far .25 near difference. The only advantage the ISU-152 has over the IS-2 is range but given the current meta this is easily made up with just a straight charge at it or worst all, German nitrous fed tanks. While its easy to write these concerns off as 'learn to play' it's easy enough to counter 'learn to read'. I'm not using out dated statistics. There are many better Soviet alternatives for anti infantry while a gap is present for late game dedicated anti armor. In: COH2 Balance
