Hi guys, tnx for fast answers.
@Pip:
A: yeah, will keep that in mind, I guess I focus too much on "main" map
B: I agree but there are exepctions (grenadier long-range grenade, artillery,...)
@Protos Angelus: I always CTRL group my units (I have my own "system" but that doesn't really matter) and use shift commands to spare time...
yeah, I guess I forgot to mention I play 1v1s exclusively. So a squad wipe hurts even more here, no ally can help you if you fucked up...
@MarkedRaptor:
As stated, I'm trying to learn all factions, currently I have only about 1000 games in total with all 5 factions but I believe, in that time, I should be better and not lose so many squads every god damn game!
p.s. Brumbär is a rare sight in 1v1 so that's no excuse for me

Hi guys,
long time reader, not-much-poster here.
Started with COH1 (since around 2008), been playing it for good 10 years, then about year and a half ago I decided i was time to "transition" to coh2. I love(d) COH1, have also been a forum moderator on gamereplays...anyways, transition from coh1 to coh2 is/was much harder than I expected...I was a solid coh1 player (rank 16 all factions - back in the days when it still matterred), now I just can't seem to get a hold/grip of coh2...this game just feels a lot "faster" to me.
I love many new abilities, new commanders and everything but I just lose a lot of games and it's always because of the same reason - after the match, statistics sais I lose always between 10-20 squads...this is unforgivable...maybe a squad wipe or two, you can still make a comeback...but not so many.
So my question is, how do you guys (especially high level) keep up with multi tasking...do you all use tactital map? I personally don't really like it. But it seems that too often I forget about a unit, that I sent capping to other side of map, focus on other engagement and that unit is dead, kaputt, all gone...
I know that practice makes perfect and I really want to get better but I'm on such a big losing streak and am pissed cause it's always same error...micro.
Macro wise I know what I must to, which units counter which. I've been watching propaganda cast every day for past 10 years or so, regularly watch streams of high level players, etc...but my micro is just sub-par I guess...
we're not getting any younger, I'm aware of that, reflexes have also diminished in years I guess...but still I'm not gonna give up, I've invested too much time in that beautiful game (both of them) and I don't wanna surrender, I'm sure this can be improved/corrected.
Also, ingame, most of my wins are in first 20 minutes of game and most of my losses are in games that last longer than 30 minutes.
I play all factions (at least I wanna learn them all, played random in coh1), currently seat in rank 200-250, this weekend I dropped (with usf) from position 160 to 250...I won 2 out of cca 15 last games...
I know that "it's just a game" but I still wanna improve.
I would be VERY grateful for any tips.
thank you |
happens to me also since 64 bit upgrade...
beforeu upgrade I had almost zero bug splats, now every replay I watch...I don't even dare to play automatch...
Not sure if they always crash at the same point or if I was clicking on the UI at that time...
I have gtx 1060 6gb and 16gb ddr3 3200Mhz if that helps... |
thank you MMX for that resposnse, much appreciated. |
Hi,
I would like to know your input for this tank. Is it worth it? How is it vs AI? What about AT (vs other mediums)?
I don't see this commanders use often in 1v1s but it seems good (dshka is good, cons repair is good, m5 with guards is situational, not sure about m4c though)...
or is t34/76 just better price/performance wise.
Thanks |
Falls should not be nerfed in any way. They need to be the infantry shredders they are now. They are expensive to reinforce and 4 man and doctrinal. They had their faust removed which was a good thing as they got the definitive AI role. Keep falls as they are now.
agreed, I don't think they need any nerf.
Just counter them with vehicles or numbers, don't counter them with 1 rifle/tommy/conscript squad.

I am kinda mad at the moment with my last game.
I have played COH2 for a few years, never delved into OST. So for the past couple of months, I've been playing OST 1v1's. And I love it until I started fighting the USF.
I can't for the life of me play against them without stressing out. The amount of pressure they put on is too much.
I was fighting against Armoured Company, I was using Elite Troops. Nothing I was doing was working
My infantry would falter against riflemen. My MG42 did well, but it's not hard to outflank and MG.
My Tanks were doing great, up until he started spam building his tanks.
I can't counter the Stuart that comes out within 5 minutes of the game, at the point i can't even build my PAK 40. So the stuart justs absolutely minces everything.
The engineers are absolutely disgusting, especially with the flamer.
I have a replay and i'd really like someone to tell me where i went wrong. I felt like my micro was on point (Up until the end where i was tired and fatigued). It felt like whatever i was doing was never enough. I'd kill a tank, and 2 more would take its place.
Kinda mad that i can't effectively fight USF. I am using Meta commanders and build orders and it's still doing nothing.
Thanks, Jay
as far as infantry goes, keep your grens at distance when fighting rifles, if rifles get close, fight only if you have supperior numbers.
As far as tanks go, I'm not sure which tanks U had in mind but P4 is on par with Sherman so unless u got anti-tank naded, it should be a fair matchup.
Stuart shouldn't really come at 5 mins mark unless he outplayed you with fuel advantage. Also stuart is not really that good vs infantry, it will hit them but stuart is primarily used to counter 222/Panzer 2.
Pak should hit the field at approximately the same time as stuart.
As far as engineers go, you can also upgrade your pios with flamers and do the same "disgusting" thing to your opponent.
Also "meta commanders" don't mean a lot I think, elite troops is a good 1v1 commander, make use of those G43s and panzer tactician. |
I'm no pro but I can give you my 2 cents...
Guards are a "jack of all trades" kind of infantry...solid vs most targets, great vs none. When upgraded with DPs, they are solid vs infantry and can stand their own vs light vehicles. When P4 hits field, don't bother to counter it with them. They have a solid grenade.
Shocks on the other hand are a master of CQC. Just get them in close and watch enemy melt. They also have good body armor, smoke grenade (use vs mgs to flank it) and a very good grenade (I would say stronger than guards's). |
agreed, I also think Bayeaux is a really well designed map with a lot of flanking opportunities, nice ammount of cover and a nice "flow". |
Hi guys,
I really want to know which type of grenade is the most powerful (damage and aoe wise) and which one is the least.
Or if someone could please "rank" them (of that kind of list already exists I would gladly look into it).
For example, I know that bundle grenade (falls, pgrens,...) does more damage than rifle grenade from grens.
I also know that brit or usf grenade is probably somewhere in between those 2 (at least it feels that way).
Thank you |
