The units in soviet T4 actually aren't bad, its just that in 1v1 t3 is more useful due to the design of the faction. And then people like to save fuel for super call in tanks in 2v2. |
Testing the panzerwerfer a bit and it does seem overnerfed, its damage isn't that bad but when coupled with the long cool down time then its really not very useful. Same should apply for katyusha. |
Lol at earlier in the thread people saying american late game is weak.
Double LMG vet3 rifles dominate infantry.
Jacksons with AP rounds and .57mm AT guns with AP rounds and the vet1 ability dominate tanks. (better than ZIS and su85). Hint: tag the enemy tank with .57mm shots and finish with jackson AP rounds.
Stuart gun carriage snipes off paks and obers.
Sherman is a good meat shield and infantry killing tank.
All of the american tanks can quickly fall back and decrew for easy low-micro repairs, use high mobility to do damage and then fall back for repairs, wash, rinse, repeat.
Only problems late game will be on narrow maps against jadgtiger and elefant with spotting scope combo, but the russians would have exactly the same problem. |
It was the katyusha's AOE that was slightly too high that made it squad wipe full health squads too often, rather have seen that changed than the large reload time. Atleast the damage change is good though.
They also just made wehrmacht T4 even less worth its teching costs...
The stukka also still needs changing, for a unit that is a large tech gamble it is very easy to dodge (why does it fire in a line?), and then if it actually hits does some crazy damage. Basically only useful on terrible maps like 2v2 semois (very small and choke-pointy), in which it becomes some fairly early super arty.
edit: Do hope cruzz has overlooked something, otherwise that would make both the panzerwerfer and katy terrible, considering they only wanted slight nerfs |
Panzerwerfer is very good, however hard to tell where it sits in terms of balance considering no one builds Wehrmacht tier 4.
The stukka has high damage and high AOE so if it hits it can do huge damage.
However then it fires in an easily dodged line (wtf?),the stukka should be changed to be more like the panzerwerfer, but firing 6 more powerful rockets and not in a line (at a lower damage and AOE than current).
The katyusha needs a slight AOE and damage nerf since in its current state it can easily kill OKW trucks and squad wipe full health retreating vet3 gren squads (note: allies with high AOE weapons is much more effective at squad wiping full squads than axis units with same AOE) |
So sticking to the topic of overperforming US units, and from playing lots of 2v2 and 1v1.
Riflemen:
Potentially doing too much damage at long range
Being able to dual wield the LMGs gives them too much DPS (make it so they can only have 1 LMG and then have a BAR aswell)
Defensive stance turning riflemen in an open field into super men with high suppression,needs removing or heavily nerfing
AA HT:
Still a stupid unit, long range high damage AA gun, and crazy mobile suppression. Use on fringes of map away from AT gun, enjoy easy majority map control.
Not sure about the E8 since i haven't used it much
Not sure if they've address the off-maps yet, but some were useless and others would kill full health super tanks.
M8 greyhound:
Canister is very dumb and can just 1 shot squads
WC51 super jeep:
ridiculous against OKW, same problem as with the M3 scout car (probaly more of a problem with OKW than USF though)
There is problems with the other factions aswell, but that would be for another thread (OKW early and mid game espeacially against soviets t1 or t2, ostheer teching cost ect.) |
So having just woken up i decided to play a quick 1v1 while eating breakfast. After losing the majority of the map and my units, it was down to the comeback to be real. |
