Can someone explain why tanks have so different styles/patterns how to crush infantry? Reason I'm asking is, of course, the Cromwell, which seems to just mow down all infantry perfectly. Is that intentional? And if so: why? Why do squads walk straight into some tanks to die, and against other tanks, they scatter reasonably well?
Crush is all right, with most tanks. But with the Cromwell, it is just oh so lame. Reminds me of the vCoh M10.

I'm looking for some sort of the good old cheatmod, but with interface and Brits. I have seen it in some videos on Youtube, but none of them have any sort of link in their description.
All I can find is the old one, with cumbersome key commands.
Does anyone know what it is called and where I can find it? |

CoH2 runs fine here. Everything on Max (except AA I think). No dramatic drops in FPS, 4on4 is fluid (except when there are like 20 sources of smoke and fire). There are some problems when a game has finished, the menu is really laggy and such, but that is a minor evil in my opinion.
I guess CoH2 is just not at all consistent on different rigs, even though they might be similar in power. |
I know the PIAT has some issues, but I don't think it is as bad as people make it out to be. Granted, against mediums and such the lack of accurate hits is problematic, but the ability to always do damage on deflection makes them (in my opinion) very good against the incredibly slow super-heavies.
An increase in projectile speed is all that is needed in my opinion. |
Enemy brings ST to kill my fighting position guarding a bridge. Kills the fighting position, and the bridge the ST was on. Very nice splash(damage). |
Just a quick idea/suggestion that popped into my head while making breakfast: It would be cool if infantry would turn quicker when standing. I think it would be beneficial for the gameplay (feeling less clumsy) and for the looks/feels. Imo it is very strange/funny/frustrating when members of the squad take like one-two seconds to turn around if the enemy is basically sodomizing them.
I know it is a rather small point, but when CCQ troops engage each other in close range, this can make quite a difference. |
I really dont understand people who say that you will NEVER see a ST shoot, that it is like the sneaky ninja always coming out of the shadows.
If you dont keep your eyes peeled where the ST is at the moment, if you just sit on your defensive line, okay, you wont see it. When I play with friends and we know there could be or already is a ST on the field, it is a regular ping fest like 'ST is here, ST moves there, etc', so no surprise when it comes round to shoot. |
I have not been able to play Brits in the free trial yet, but I made a topic about the AVRE in the Alpha Forums (Katitof, I think you were the one to reply and disagree with me). If they havent changed much, as many of you stated, I'd still argue that it is performing too well.
Cheaper than the ST? Yeah. Does it still come with two Infantry squads for the cheaper price?
Well, other points that make it incredibly good have already been mentioned (faster and safer reload, higher armor, rotatable turret etc.), so I don't want to grind on these points.
I just want to make a prediction that the AVRE will be toned down a tad in further patches. |
AoE is an awesome game, but in my opinion, it never was a AAA title to begin with, some aspects of it (and AoE2, AoM and AoE3) just seem so weak and sloppy to me. Still love to play it though.
Civ5 has other huge problems which would make it lose its prestige status (like the god-horrible multiplayer from lags and drops).
Only Blizzard can do everything the way they want to, but hey, it seems they have just unlimited bags of gold.
Coh2, for me, is definitly one of the best and best made games out there, despite some of its faults.
BTT: Could someone post pictures of the Old P4 model compared to the new one? And pictures of the vCoH Tiger Coh2 Tiger? I'd love to see the difference. |
