Being bad is not a balance argument and when paid commanders are as strong as free ones, then its not P2W, its just QQ of the ones who don't want to pay.
Sorry dude, but that's rubbish and a complete falacy to think that whoever complains about DLC commanders is a noob.
As Kolaris explained quite rightly, DLC commanders give more options and strategies to pick.
That's P2W. It doesn't really matter if you actually win or not.
You have an advantatge in terms of units, abilities and strategies available and your enemy who didn't purchase DLC doesn't have.
If you win every match just buying them, then they aren't P2W, they are a hax. |
Yeah, and they apologised for it already and are working on other things than DLC now.
Anything more?
When they said that? Maybe in any secret forum because I didn't see a word of Relic about DLCs. |
The DLC commanders would be no problem at all if they had been unlockable by playing at all... I really don't get why this wasn't considered when this "buy DLC" system was introduced.
That was what we were made to believe before the game was released. That the commanders, though affordable via DLC, could be unlocked as bulletins are. |
Things I like about CoH2:
- Graphics
- Snow, mud and blizzards (Yeah, I'm one of the few that likes blizzards)
- Molotovs
- Point capping system
- Has Russians
Things I dislike:
- P2W/DLC Commanders
- AT nades/Panzerfaust mechanics
- Ram
- Tech too fast
- Final boss tanks (Tiger Ace, ISU, Elephant, IS2...)
- Commander system (Doctrines were 500% more fun)
As you can see, the things I like are all cosmetic or of low impact in the game, meanwhile I dislike a lot of core mechanics of the game.
So, even as I tried to enjoy the game and I've played nearly 300 hours, I feel that the game is really dull and repetitive. Always a race to bring out the biggest tank.
I can't enjoy this game. Some of the things in my "Don't like" list should be changed to make me play it again. |
Ultimately this comes down to a simple choice: do you, as CoH players, want to give Relic (and indeed the community at large) time to change and adapt, or do you want to wallow in self-pity and snipe from the sidelines regardless of what happens next?
Sorry man, but it seems that you're the one inviting the flame with those comments.
People can agree or disagree, but it seems unrespectful to say that they're "wallowing in self-pity" or as another guy said " [...] I look at all the naysayers as they were retards" [sic].
Please, moderate insults, not opinions. |
Nobody plays Rome 2 multiplayer, it's a graveyard over there. So yes, it ain't even a contest
Rome II singleplayer battles and coop against the AI count too.
But only real battles, not the autoresolved ones. |
You people need to be a little critical of marketing gimmicks.
It's gonna come out 50/50, given how many more people play TotalWar, how could it ever be a real contest? And then they will give both titles some free DLC.
It would be funny that in case of draw no DLC will be given.
But yes, numbers are odd, two days already and they only have a difference of 2% between both games. A little hard to believe. |
If this post and your activity is anything to go by noun, you're doing a good job of trying to get some community feedback and reason with everyone.
The real issue is progression with the actual game and I won't recite what Tommy already said because he summed up a lot of the core issues of why a lot of us don't play CoH2.
+1
Another sensible post in the thread.
Noun should print and put up all of them in Relic's HQ walls.
With big letters. |
This is just sick. Company of DLCs 2 is going to become the most expensive game ever. 182.33$ for DLC....LOL. Relic has lost there mind.
And we are talking about a niche game that usually doesn't appeal to the casual gamer.
Each day this game is more and more alike to Train Simulator. |
Yep, CoH2.org has turned into a fucking echo chamber at the moment. I'm an old hand vCoH player and even I'm down on the negativity here. I might revisit this forum in a few weeks to see if it's got better, but Ami needs to know this place is getting a rep as being the RPGCodex of COH. That is to say a festering, gonzo pit of hate and bile. And it's not even *funny* hate and bile.
BeltFed Actual OUT.
Most of the haters you name probably preordered the game or bought a Collector Edition. I'm sure that most of them recommended the game to their friends, or talked wonders about it...
Relic should think hard what made that a big fan of the franquise could change his mind in so few months regarding the game. And not, the problem wasn't the casters.
Everyone of us knows what happened, even Relic know what happened but somewhat they don't want to touch that matter and they are just taking useless detours like talking about new casts and tournaments.
That's like trying to heal giving an aspirine to someone with a bullet in the head. Maybe you have good intentions but you're wasting your time. |
