Thread: Hit the Dirt23 Jul 2014, 15:25 PM I know hit the dirt basically gives you yellow cover. But how does it function if you hit the dirt in green cover? Will you get green or yellow or an even better cover bonus? And is the bonus then side dependant? Like if the hit the dirt in green cover gives green cover bonus, will you then get it even if you are on the wrong side of the cover? Greetz! In: COH2 Gameplay

Thread: Maxims vs the OKW 22 Jul 2014, 15:35 PM For everyone whining about Maxims...here is a video proofing that you cannot possibly suppress more than one squad with a Maxim. Micro will allow you to suppress 2 squads but after that every other squad will be on top of your Maxim. So the "attack move maxim" tactic can effectively be countered by an "attack move blob". Who is with me and thinks the Maxim needs a change from a damage dealing one squad suppressing platform to an area supression weapon (like all other mgs...) with smaller damage output? Soviets need a unit to punish blobs (and dont answer this with the katuscha...) Everyone hates blobbing and Mgs must be the way to punish blobs. But of course we want no second MG42. My two cents. Thread: Maxims vs the OKW 21 Jul 2014, 10:53 AM Is anyone aware of the fact that the maxim can only suppress one squad at a time? Even if they are standing right on top of each other the maxim will only suppress one squad and the other can stand right in the firing arc and pad the back of the crawling other squad. You can simply rush a maxim with 3 squads and its easy fast food. Even two squads are enough from the front if your oponent is not paying attention. How is that no problem? What are soviets supposed to do against blobs? In: COH2 Balance
Thread: (2-4) Crossing in the woods19 Nov 2013, 22:28 PM Ouch!! I found an important bug! I put a maxim on the sector point above the fuel. It is not able to shoot down to the water even though it can be shot at from that position. Something went wrong there. My maxims wont shoot back when positioned there! In: Map Sharing
Thread: Overpowered Maxim Video Evidence13 Nov 2013, 00:55 AM I dont think the Maxim is overpowered. However I feel the MG42 is underperforming. Two bursts should supress a unit even if in yellow cover. In many many replays you can see conscripts rushing through the yellow defense of craters created during the match and getting suppressed in a full of 3 bursts. That is clearly too much. I find it ok that the mg42 dies fast but on the other hand it should suppress at least as good as the Maxim. In: COH2 Balance
Thread: T34 solution?6 Nov 2013, 03:31 AM The only problem T-34s have is that they simply cannot destroy a tiger. 2 T34s can cope with a P4. 3 can kill a Panther right on. With micro you dont even need to lose one. But 4 T34s wont kill a tiger(not even 5 maybe). The shots will just deflect. And THATS the problem of the t34. A tiger can make an investment of 332 fuel obsolet. The T35/85 is just a bit too costly for its surviveability. However I liked the idea of a buyable t34 weapon upgrade that will increase AT capabilities but at the same time reduce the AI capabilities. It should however be sth like 120 munition and the AT capabilites should be somewhere between a ZIS gun and a SU 85. Pros: -It would stop rendering t34s useless when a tiger comes into play -It would be a trade between AT and AI Cons: - Could be too strong against Panthers? However the t34 with upgraded gun will still be easy to kill - a Pgren with shreck will kill it so its fine. What do you think? - even more flexibility for soviets The simplest solution would be to decrease the armor value of the tiger. However - that would equal the fractions again too much. We want variety - and a tiger in its state is nice. If it didnt counter the t34 that hard. My two cents. What do you guys think? In: COH2 Balance
