Thread: Honest opinions about Balance - Soviet adv19 May 2014, 17:47 PM I only really struggle against a few things when fighting against soviets(German is not my preference, I'm not really good at them frankly, nor do I enjoy their playstyle) I believe the problem is not a result of my lack of skill in the case of 1. Well managed snipers, 2. the bloody ISU-152(unholy freaking disgusting), 3. Squad wiping mines. Some changes I feel are absolutely critical to soviet balance from the perspective of germans are: 1. Soviet snipers should have a combined survivability of the single german sniper, this still prevents coh1 style sniper duels but gives each sniper equal footing against regular infantry fire or other forms of damage. The models of the sov sniper team should always be REALLY close to each other, such that they are essentially ONE model when it comes to targeting distances and AOE damage. 2. reduce range and stop squad wiping. 3. Limit the mines in some fashion so they can't wipe. That's all I can say right now that is obviously and without doubt OP for the soviets. In: COH2 Balance

I don't think people are very happy about the elephant. Point is, T34 needs to be swarmed to be effective? I think that defines it as ineffective by default. I don't ever see that happening in even matches. in order for it to happen you would need to never lose any, and if THAT is happening, you are not in an even match. Tier 3 is a landslide tier for sovs and leaves you handicapped for late game, in an even match, in my experience. In: COH2 Gameplay

This is exactly what I mean by landslide tier. T34 isnt that inexpensive, two t34s are approaching the cost of a tiger, but they won't kill a tiger, not even close. All of this "swarm" talk is silly, in an even match, how are you going to swarm a 100 fuel unit? Only if you are already winning with too much momentum for the enemy to reach equal footing again. Thread: Thought about the Penal and Guards Infantry15 May 2014, 05:41 AM Penals have high damage output, so in the early stages of the game they are effective against grenadiers. They always remain as good anti infantry/buildings(fast way to destroy caches if you have the munitions). I build just one of them in the early stages before grenadiers get LMGs. They probably should have some form of late game upgrade. No reason to ever make them over call ins during mid-late. In: Lobby
Thread: You will always want T314 May 2014, 17:47 PM From the beginning of my playtime, I've always tried Tier 3 soviet and it always wrinkles my sprinkles. T34 is arse when you aren't already ahead of the German Tier 3. It feels like a landslide dependent tier. If you aren't riding the landslide it will suck butts, if you are riding the landslide, it will too and seem "ok". German Tier 3 is great. It does everything so well that I don't NEED tier 4. Stugs in particular are being awesome because so many seem to go T3 this patch with soviets... Stugs eat that up in my experience with them. In: COH2 Gameplay

Maybe support your machine guns for once instead of using them like frontline super soldiers that can lock down any area alone, which they were NOT designed to do. They're SUPPORT units not the one stop answer for holding territory. You've just become accustomed to having an unfair advantage. In: COH2 Balance
