TBH they did not until reforged.
There was like a decade long gap?
Bit shorter. They started to balance again in like 2018 before even announcing reforged and from a quick check it seems the last balance patch was in 2011. In between there were just game improvement patches. |
At this pace, the game will NEVER be finished. 7 years later and the balance team still can't balance the game. Anyone with half a brain cell should question whether "balancing" is what the bal team is really doing or is it just pushing their own agenda.
After 10 years, Blizzard is still balancing SC2 (though there had been expansions which amount to reworks)
After 18 years, they are still balancing WC3
After 21 years, MS is still balancing AoE2.

I demand the moderators to expose those that voted UKF as weakest faction.
Ask Janne. We don't have that power. |
And if you can isolate that faction based on logical arguments, where take into account everything (mathematically possible, humanly impossible), you'll be a bona fide genius.
You are over estimating how easy is to spot a broken faction/commander.
Not like it is the case right now but we have plenty of patches were one or 2 factions were dominant.
Someone has to be the best or worst overall faction. Whether is based purely on W/L ratio or accessibility. That on it's own is fine, the problem is when the gap between the top and the bottom is too big.

Not a bug, some mortars have AoE suppression, which causes that effect.
AoE suppression was only added to ISG and Pak Howie and then removed from the game quite a long time ago. |
Weird that you seem to be the only one complaining about this poll and now the numbers in the poll don't add up with Brits having 25 votes when only 22 people have voted total.....
Because not everyone answers all the question and some might even rig it if they hate/love a specific faction.
The basic impression from the poll is that you have 3 categories. OKW at the bottom, followed by SU and then you have the trio of USF/UKF/OH. Obviously we are talking about high level play with meta in mind. |

It all depends on what kind of stats you will be adjusting. Talking about "power level" is too broad.
What i can imagine out of a cheaper Centaur is a 560 HP vehicle with (MAYBE) a bit less mobility. I think the current offensive performance is fine so that leaves you really small room to adjust the unit.
I don't have the same feeling.
Centaur is in my opinion in a decent spot, at least decent enough that it does not need much attention at the moment. Power level compared to Ostwind is decent.
Maybe some slight alterations would be okay, but I think fiddling with it at the moment would cause more harm than good and probably suck up a lot of time.
Exactly. Feels like a luxury to spend time on the unit.

Tow faction having access to stock abilities that allows them to use off map near enemy base with little to no counter is imo an issue.
This is a separate issue to how planes work in general.
Well we will have to agree to disagree on that point. |
Then planes that start from enemy base should either be available to all factions as stock or to none.
I have explained clearly what the issue is imo, so the "all or nothing" theory does not apply here.
It's not clear.
Since these planes can originate from enemy base it is difficult to shoot down before they provide that information
You have issues that certain factions have access to tools that other factions get doctrinaly.
If you have problems that UKF and USF have access to this tools, then there's nothing else to discuss.
If you have problems with how vision works or single plane pass feel free to quote and keep the conversation going.
|
Due to how the game works, single pass planes are not designed to be countered in a realistic fashion.
This applies to recon, bomb, resource. smoke and strafe planes. If you have issues with one, you should have problems with all of them.
Also, as far as i'm aware, this still applies in the game.
