Because i feel like its still happening a lot of times that my squad gives the warning way too late or not at all. Not at all might be an exagregation, not sure anymore about my last matches. If that ain't RNG, I don't know what is. I didn't rage or anything, but we had a good laugh with the jokes on the [All] chat. I can understand that the RNG can be more than decisive and turn the tide in tournies, but that's what gives them the entertainment value. I don't know if the general COH2 population watches the games because they want to see a lot of keys pressed or what, but I'd reckon is they want to see some sick RNG balls-out plays that pay off. I think one has to differentiate between extreme RNG which is in some way in control of the player and the ones without it. Also the effects and how the player can react to it. For example: someone using attack ground to fire a shell which could extend over the 60 range of the pak is betting in extreme RNG, but that's purely on player input. I wouldn't mind having deadlier plane crashes if they created a gameplay scenario were players could play around it. Ex: planes don't immediately crash but fly around a bit. 50% of them go OOB on a typical 2v2 map but the other 50% will crash after say 10s on a selected part of the map on which players receive an alert a crash is coming. Think like an offmap artillery warning UI. I don't mind extreme RNG as long as it doesn't remove options from players. In the case of infantry squads bunching up together, i think a better approach for COH3 is allowing players to choose between 2 formations types and giving some kind of debuffs on the spread out one. While you are right in way, still in current meta, no matter if you like or hate it, all factions more or less have fair timings of all nessesry tools the need. Execution of this might be far from being perfect, but the point point is still remains the same, that over-all free or payed grades are somewhat compinsated evenly across the faction. So "X gets Y for free, while Z have to pay", arent really helping anybody. I agree with your last point, but i don't with the bolded part. Soviets and OKW are in their current position due to their tech. Check how much you spend in tech to get T2 + Conscript upgrades + T3 + T70 vs OKW going mechanized + P2. There's a reason also why OKW is getting more accessible medics as well, cause both USF/UKF can deal with mechanized in an efficient way. If anything, all the current changes in the balance preview shows that tech is not in a good position overall. Specially early game. And that is only a consequence of making units "fair" which make them not able to carry their tech cost associated to unlock them. In: COH2 Balance

This sentence says it all: "While the upgrade could have stood on its own, it did not give an incentive for players to rush towards their final tier.." The Mobile reserves can be viable as T3 upgrade but we choose to move back to T4 because we want to player rush to the final Tier. This is choice not a necessity. That's too simplistic and detached from what happens in the game, which has given us our current meta state. How much does each faction start with resources? How much do they spend at the first 3/4 mins of the game in tech and what do they get out of it? How much does it cost to get a light vehicle? How much for a light tank? How much does it cost to get a normal army composition, without medium tanks, including infantry upgrades and healing. THEN it counts the timing for medium tanks. It's not about total tech cost, it's about how much are they spending at different timings in the game. Specially mp rather than fuel. In: COH2 Balance

The only question here is if "rush the final tier" syndrome is superior design. If it is make tech "linear" for all faction and be done with. (it would make think allot easier to balance) If it not lets stop going down this path or even back truck in some point so that there are other option instead of having to "rush final tier" in every single game. You are only giving me a "no it's not" answer. I've already given you a reason as to why it happens and we can take a look back at how the game has progressed and why. Tech becomes cheaper and accesible because the tools those limited tiers provide are no longer good on their own. The question is simple: can you win with low tier units and light vehicles without the need of teching at all? The answer is not because we purposely nerf those options. In: Lobby

Game pacing ("prolonged early") is not the "rush final tier" syndrome. Explain further cause i don't get your point. I'm saying that before, you were not forced to tech because you could either win with low tier units, light vehicles and/or then transition to call in vehicles. Teching becomes mandatory once you nerf those winning conditions. And the question is is this good direction or not? If it a good change lets make tech choices irrelevant for all faction and be done with (make all tech linear). Thread: The time factor26 Dec 2020, 18:14 PM You are forced to tech because the alternative is having stronger low tier units dominating making everything else irrelevant. The game gave you "illusion" of choice. As Aerohank said before, it's a problem with how the economy system works in COH2. You are incentivized to get units which require fuel to get, because those are the only units which are efficient mp wise. The game is not about who get's more fuel, is about who get's to make the most cost efficient mp trades as manpower is a constant resource which can't be improved. Throughout the lifespan of COH2, mp only units, early light vehicls and munition based upgrades/abilities have been nerfed progressively therefore making teching a must. The final nail in the coffin has been call in vehicles requiring tech (which on the other hand made obsolete tech units otherwise). If you want a prolonged early game phase then we should return to: -Stronger snipers, which forces more infantry squads (in order to overwhlem) and light vehicles to be used. -Rollback nerfs to mortars, which makes artillery units not necessary as much. -Rollback nerfs to all light vehicles and light tanks, which makes them mandatory to be tech, build and counter. -Nerf/removal of snares. You'll need more infantry squads early on to deal with vehicles. -Rollback nerfs to MGs. -Rollback nerfs to mines. In: Lobby
