By Patton's immaculate uniform, funded in three hours?!
When people REALLY want something, they vote with their money.
Recently, Critical Role, a show where a bunch of nerdy professional voice actors play Dungeon and dragons, achieved it's stretch goal of almost a million dollars in less than an hour. They were planning on animating a single 22min episode and end up basically with a full season show when they broke pass the $11M, been the 5th most backed/funded project in Kickstarter. |
For the Churchill:
I reckon shift 60 armour from the back to the front (300/120), reduce hit points to 800, 0.8 received damage.
That gives it 1000 effective hit points and +25% repair speed. That's a seven shot kill from an AT gun, same as the IS-2, Tiger, Croc and AVRE. (The live Churchill is a nine shot kill).
Move the smoke shell from the Crocodile to the standard Churchill. The Croc has a flamer: it doesn't need to blind anti-tank guns. The standard Churchill, however, would definitely appreciate it.
For the KV-1:
Give it the same armour values as the KV-2: 300 frontal, 120 rear. That makes the KV-1 a little better at range, but rewards flanking it.
Why don't just make it more expensive and revert the popcap change, in the case of the Churchill. I'll say it again, i think it's gonna be easier to balance both the Churchill and the Comet if we treat them as a single other heavies, with only 1 been able to field on board.
If you nerf by 400HP the Churchill, you will basically have to reduce the cost which would still lead to spamming them in order to be effective. |
The problem, PV is costly and it comes up against TD and heavies. Which its armor is not useful. Its rof is still slowest besides the firefly. It has worst moving accuracy for a role it needs to be mobile.
Its hp is not useful alone, since 90 armour cannot defend itself against side shots. It needs something more to stay in close range battle. 1 panther can only deal 160 with reload times. Td already got hp buff and infantry snares. When we encounter heavies like churchill and kv1, it is even worse..
You WOT m8?
Can we bury the "panther has slow reload" mem already?
It's got literally better ROF than most medium tanks (including Pz4), save for sherman76/M4C. It hs higher rof than firefly, and pretty much matches SU-85. OKW variant can even push the ROF even further with an ability.
Reminder that PV got seriously RoF buff and that reload is not the only stats which determines RoF.
So Jackson RoF is 6.3s, while the PV is 6.4s. FF is 8s, while Su85 is 5.4s.
PIV RoF is 5.4s. T3485/Comet is 6.15s and E8 been at 6.3s.
That been said: PV behaves in the same way as PGs. The unit doesn't need to be forced in close range battle unless you end up been hardcountered by TDs with 60 range. Against which 1on1 you win by HP pool. Against adv. mediums and heavies, they either don't have the range/speed/HP pool to contest them.
OH PV could use both combat blitz simil boost on vet 1 (RoF or improving accuracy) and something more at vet2 to improve it's offensive capabilities (moving acc) cause it's underwhelming till vet3. Even if the power was on purpose moved from vet2 to vet0. |
it is difficult to limit to one on field (same as the comet) since you give up or the Comet or the Churchill. I mean, OKW get one per field KT but still can combine it with a panther. Same goes for the Tiger which can be combined with the panther or brumbar.
TBH, it would be easier to make them stronger and limit them to 1 on the field, for both cases.
Comet on release was basically a Pershing which could be spam. Churchill doesn't break the game unless you reach critical mass and only starts to be annoying on 2v2 and up when you can combine it with more units to support them. On 1v1, most of the cases i've seen in tournaments it ends up spending most of the time repairing that doing anything else.

Considering that Panther is Wehr main tank to counter Allies heavy, yet its armor is weak to support this role as a mobile tank counter. It got no vet bonus to supplement this role, no penetration increase, no move accuracy increase, no damage increase. Just weak 90-99 armor on its 2nd half that even cheap SU76 can deal 120 damage from 60 range. SU76 need not flank it, just have a nice angle side opening, i repeat rear armor is not rear armor, but 50% of the tank.
Allies TD all out range it, allies infantry all have super fast snares, Soviet even have heavy engine damage. And best of all, Allies TD on vet get pen bonus that completely ignores panther vet armor. Poor scaling for Wehr, dont you agree?
And when you list out all TD available to each factions, their ranges, their penetration, their damage, their accuracy, their vet bonus. Dont make sense why Allies need so strong rear armor tanks that are still popcap affordable.
PV outranges the tanks with low pen enough for it's armor to matter. PV HP pool is more important than having high armor against TDs. The changes made to the PV in conjunction to buffing it's RoF, made it better against TDs, better at vet 0 and removing the few cases on which the unit would bounce everything or getting destroyed by a few lucky pens.
1. Usf mortar quickly fell out of favor until smoke got moved from rifles.
2. I did have pene flamethrowers explode. Its possible that had them pick a dropped flamer wich could explode. But its quite while ago.
I agree with the penal conscript maxim statement. Though i find cons and having cheese a bit of a stretch.
3. I agree. Allies needed cheese to win the late game. Wich was complained about a lot. Now they still complain. No more paperweight late game to callin meta.
4. Volks overlap with both obers and sturms and are a lot cheaper and easier to use. That and obers no longer being op as fuck makes volks the choice. Cheap, puch above their weight, durable, while having sandbags and snare plus incindiary and stg upgrade. The last 3 the lacked before their change.
1- All mortars fell out of favour when they nerfed them and improved formations.
2- Trust me, Penals only saving grace was a flamer which wouldn't explode and a satchel which would wipe any unit which was on deep snow. I was salty enough in those days that i had the world record on having the CE flamer explode on less than 1s after purchasing it with my first 60 munitions.
4- Not really. Sturms are early units, Volks are midgame and Obers are meant for late. |
snip.
Some misconceptions.
1- USF roflstomped OH, so they gave OH an MG42 at T0 and mp to handle them. Nerf of RET lead to basically just rifle spam strats with 0 possibility of any variation early on because tech is too slow. Mortar was design to offer an alternative.
2- Penals were the original only squad which had a flamethrower which never exploded. Flamethrower crit was removed couple of years after launch for all other units. Penals either saw little/niche use when they were a 360mp squad with G43 like DPS on their SVTs and basically no use when they were made into 270mp units. Penals were made the defacto unit for Soviets, when you basically removed Maxims from the game and Conscripts were stripped of their cheese abilities and their muni cost increased, in favour of stats boost which never manage to cut it to viable state.
3- Anything that screams cheese has been nerfed or changed to be harder to pull off. They no longer are IWIN buttons on their own.
4- Volks shrecks were not nerfed, just plained removed when the faction received a complete rework like no other faction received. Double sturm has always been a niche opening, either post or pre rework. Obers saw plenty of use when they were completely broken and after that it has always been an issue of having them arrive way too late into the game.
katitof what's ur opinion on the chirchuil ? do fell it's fair for it to have such an high rear armor ? with so much hp ?
I think the current HP/armor values are there to keep it from either been an RNG machine with higher armor, while still been a soak sponge which needs to keep been repaired constantly (weakness)
Through the years the consensus on the unit has always been: xp fodder and useless unit which can't do shit cause it's slow and the cannon does nothing or they somehow achieved critical mass of units which lets them roll over slowly while not been able to kill them down.
You could reduce the armor (rear, maybe front) for a nerf and exchange HP with damage reduction for equal HP pool as a buff. |
This. The staying quiet/fading away goes for both sides of the coin. For the population stats, nobody really knows for sure, we'd need to get the raw data/stats to see whats going on.
One last thing, can we all agree that mods being limited is generally bad and hurts the community?

I don't remember signing anything and I'm not ranting, I'm stating facts. People have been sued over this and it takes somebody to get pissed off enough to make all of this blow up in people's faces.
Also most triple A games nowdays have been a sore disappointment and more and more people, including myself, have been looking forward to Indie devs and their games which I don't agree that lack in the multiplayer department, on the contrary due to their freedom and not having a publisher such as SEGA dictate cow milking and breathing down their necks they don't have as scummy business practices and are on the market to actually make quality games instead of basically undercover money laundering operations.
You probably don't remember signing anything because it's either on the first login, when you buy it on steam or when you install the game.
I don't expect any company around the world to be sued over not providing the means for people to keep playing online.
The problem with multiplayer indies is infra-estructure and population. |
Funny enough, CoH released with Theater of War which was basically a coop experience.
SC2 commanders basically "saved" the franchise of been another diablo 3 with skeleton crew game. |
Hold up hold up here, Sander was talking about us having to be thankful to Relic for keeping the servers up which is complete and utter garbage to me when all older games do not require a main server to keep playing while I'm guessing CoH2 does.
That's not the same as saying that buying a car does not require you to maintain it, I said that I won't be thankful to the dealership from which I bought it from in order them to grace me to continue to be able to drive it.
So in short, even if Relic and their server is no more I expect to be able to play against the AI at least in offline mode and possibly against others using a peer-to-peer service like hamachi or GameRanger and LAN, if not as Ross says in the video I posted, it's FRAUD.
I pay up money up front for a product, I expect it to work as long as I maintain it which includes modern software for entertainment such as games, in the specific case meaning CoH2. If Relic or SEGA holds me to only being able to play the game while their servers are up that's deliberate sabotage of their product and can be sued on those grounds in the US and as Ross said there have been such cases.
I'm sure that in the EULA or whatever you sign up when you install the game, that they reserve the right to basically shut down the game if they feel like it whenever they want. That's for all the online features the game has.
Or that you basically don't "own" the game, you are just renting it from them or whatever.
You can rant as much as you want as how unfair and fraudulent the game industry is nowadays. The key word are "industry" and business. If you want old school type of games, your only choice are indies, and indies generally can't offer the same experience as AAA, specially in the multiplayer department. |
What you are looking for is G43s.
PD: don't hit him hard with the comment guys. I know the idea is bad... |
