Very entertaining game. Nice barrage to kill the abandoned HT, think if you'd kept it alive you could have sealed the game pretty quick. By the same token, if Vindicare had immediately grabbed it and brought it into his base he mighta swung it his way.

Agree with Vindicare. It's clear that most people can't use the German sniper, but that's because they aren't microing well. The question is: should the game be balanced assuming that people can't micro properly? I've seen streamers who people consider top players unable to keep snipers in cloak and alive, and now everyone thinks the german sniper is weak.
That being said, dont think soviet sniper should have double the health of the german sniper |
More like Tiger Ace the old comeback tool. |
I dunno if you guys were trying to play "fair" or something, but going double t2 and then double t3 hurt your chances of winning as much as the elephant did. Elephant is too strong, but what are they supposed to build vs units like the KV-2? And what if you guys had gone for ISU-152? It's really obnoxious to get mad at your opponents for playing to win... if you are not playing to win but just to have fun then just have fun and don't be rude to your opponents. |
Came for amusing chat, was mildly disappointed. Thought it was weird when you said "I can't beat your commander w/ my commander and t3". I mean, yeah, maybe, but you are allowed to build T2 at any point during the game.
You've already gone Siberian btw. Was a GG, honored. |
Just because the german sniper can't one shot the soviet sniper doesn't mean its not a good countersnipe unit. It's 90mp a shot and it only takes one shot to really discourage aggressive play from the soviet snipers. |
I think lots of people really forgot about the point of strategy games. Its about adapting and using the terrain to your advantage, I'm glad company of heroes isnt completely fair in every situation its what makes the game great and gives great players the ability to shine and show why they are great. there is no such thing as perfect balance and there never will be that being said as in real life war in game you can use tactics and superior thinking and terrain to either make or break your match. No map is so unfair that it decides whether or not you win. You do that with how you play and utilize the terrain and what you do to prevent your opponent from using the terrain agianst you. Its a strategy game guys stop spending so much time complaining about this are that and start using in game tactics and strategy to over come and turn around that is why I have always played strategy games. I didnt know we all played this game to Cry nonstop if everything is not exactly the same for all and if it was it would be completely faky and well very boring and not fun.
There is a big difference between "crying" or "complaining" and critiquing maps. The better player can usually still win, but it isn't fun to have the bad side of a map. What exactly is wrong with balancing the maps?
Besides I have seen you cry and complain on your stream about balance. |
My idea for fixing Ostheer snipers: Increase HP and Armor. That way only a Soviet sniper can ideally counter it most of the time......or a 120.
I don't know if it's a good idea to force soviets to go t1 to counter the german sniper. The reason its OK for the germans to need a sniper to counter the soviet sniper is because ostheer always gets t1. I think its really important in coh for there to always be more than 1 non-doctrinal option to counter a given unit if the unit can't be countered by t0 units. |
I think if the ostheer sniper got any buff, it should be to its time-in-camo when moving between cover. The issue most people seem to have is the balance compared to the soviet sniper; allowing the ostheer sniper more freedom of movement would make counter-sniping even easier. |
The buildings die incredibly easy, making a forward HQ is usually a waste of fuel. Mortars work just fine to counter it. I watched the replay, your partner got dominated on his side and you got outmicroed in the first few engagements. That thing goes down in less than 2 minutes of mortar fire, but you couldn't even hold the territory right outside of your base long enough to use the mortar. |
