Only 15 year old trumptards obsessed with CoD and think Fury was real history will get angry about that.
Blitzkrieg, codename panzers, men of war all have had early war settings or north Africa campaigns. Blitzkrieg is still held up as a classic as it even had forgotten campaigns like the winter war or invasion of Poland. Sniper elite recently tackled an Italian storyline and sold well, I certainly enjoyed it.
Any true historical gamer with US or Wehrmacht interest would rather have lesser known theatres like Africa or Italy, than Normandy with Shermans vs tigers recycled over again.
and how many are these "true historical gamers"?
5% ? |
If you do all that, i give you max. 2 days before the first for WHERE ARE THE TIGERS AND SHERMANS cries start.
btw Battlefield is a shooter.
btw. BF 5 gets puddinged on because it has no "iconic" ww2 battles
|
The problem with a modern Setting is that you can't realize that without pissing some people off |
Yes, for CoH3 there are many options for the game:
- For example, take the early period of World War II: France with its many strange tanks + British Expeditionary Corps against Germany and the expansion of the Forgotten Far East - the USSR against Japan during the Battle of Khalkhin Gol, with a bunch of very early and interesting tank, skins and equipment.
Or an extension of Barbarossa.
- Africa and Sicily. With the Italian faction
- The unrealized Eastern Front.
Late events of 1944 - 1945. There may be Hungary with its interesting own tanks, equipment and obtained from Germany (Pz.4, 13 Tigers, Hetzer, etc.) + German last major offensive operation against the Soviet Guard Army / Soviet Army in Europe
- The offensive in Germany, the Soviet Guard Army / Soviet Army in Europe against the Fatherland Defense Army - the last ditch weapon, a bunch of captured weapons, Volksturm.
- Karelian front. In which there were a bunch of interesting tanks T-28, T-40 + the latest equipment.
- Soviet - Japanese War of 1945.
Nobody cares for WW2 when it doesn't have the iconic stuff in it |
4v4 inevitably still boils down to Allied TD spam or Axis Panthers/Tiger, though I have seen a few earlier mediums instead of TD/big cat first. I've also lost to Comet spam but that's not a med tank.
play a different mode.
you're missing the best parts of the game |
lose against Ost = l2p

Pyrotechnics kills bunkers pretty easily if you have sight, even with only one howitzer (so no company command post). That means that it does at least 640 damage, more than enough to kill an okw flak emplacement.
No it hits them fine.
Do pyros hit better with line of sight? |
The Obersoldaten lmg34 has a better on the move dps ratio(60%) then most other infantry small arms-hell, it has a better damage ratio than obersoldaten bolt actions. I consider this to be problematic given how high the base damage output is to begin with and what I perceive to be lmg34 ober's role.
When compared to the on the move MG stats of other infantry, commando brens have ~42% on the move dps, and paratrooper m1919s a measly ~18%. Now with the commandos it makes sense given their role as mobile ambush infantry but the obersoldaten are long range specialists. I do not see why they should be able to chase down other squads so easily.
I dont know exactly where the MG34(on the move) damage ratio should sit, but I'd say bringing it down to ~40%(on the move) would be a start.
Edit: As far as I'm concerned, the ability to fire an LMG on the move is already a big enough boon, they dont need to excel at it too.
Its ok, i take the tommy squad as OKW. Brits can have the obers. im fine with that |
good idea!
especially because Relic has had such good experiences with controversial campaigns on the past |
I alwys said the brits are OP.
The forum cried to buff them. Now we have this mess again |
