Nope, but its mostly due to the balance being bit off and only few tactics being viable in early game.
Then you got late game (armor and call-inns) These babies still throw away tactics out the window because they are simply on the field. A tactic enough on its own.
But the game has potential to be very satisfying, both tactically and strategically. That is if Relic does same thing to armor and call-inn units/abilities as they did to infantry with last patch. And reworks a bit importance of map control |
No, now I win or loose with germans and soviets just the same. And my post was referring to the fact that some changes still need to be operated, like maybe lowering a little the light german weapons DPS while still letting them superior to soviet ones to compensate the squad size.
So no sarcasm necessary.
'Changing playing style will ruin the ladders for the faction that was "easy mode" before. That is why they are crying all over the place around here. Now we have something close to a balanced game'
Oh, but its hard not too after reading that.
I'll do my best tho |
That's RTS. If you disagree it is fun, you can just watch streams instead or choose other types of games.
I played extreme Volksspam and PG spam in vCOH, to puma/stugs/hotchkiss spam to the end, this patch just recalling my old habits but in easy mode.
I was saying that it's natural that playing 1v1 games, you sort of go for win, more so than in 4v4 |
No, you are entirely right. That is the explanation of excessive soviet whining on this forum after 25 march patch. Changing playing style will ruin the ladders for the faction that was "easy mode" before. That is why they are crying all over the place around here. Now we have something close to a balanced game, still need to be worked at, but not so much.
You still lose? Yeah, Soviets must be still OP then |
Imo people are too concerned with the ladders. The game has nice units and preconditions but it has the wrong people playing it. The best players are just looking for a way to get on abusive win-streaks. And in the same moment they make their streams dull and booring to watch. It would be better for the game if people could learn to loose and make some nice strategies instead of killing the game with abuse. Or maybe I am wrong?
OK, you are wrong.
There is really no reason to play 1v1 unless you want to win. Playing 1v1 is more like work than fun(focus, planning, timing, etc)
If you want to have fun and try units out, you play skirmish.
Or if you want to have fun with your friends you play custom team game, with rules and agreements in place with your friends, to achieve level of fun you aim for.
What you are asking for is similar to Miss Universe wishing for World Peace. Commendable but will never happen.
Human nature is big stumbling block there.

I'm pretty disappointed they are patching the game so quickly. I understand that Relic fears they will alienate players if they don't hotfix what appear to be problems, but let's be honest: the vast majority of people who play the game are not very good. They also don't really know what they are talking about. People can't win with their old strategies, and new strategies don't immediately work, so they blame balance. The fact that anyone posts any strong opinion at all before playing the patch for at least a week or two is ridiculous, but I don't expect that to change.
The fact is that you are dismissing 99% of player base because they are not very good and they don't know what they are talking about.
Game should be playable and balanced for very skilled and semi-skilled equally, ideally. Until it is close to that, this game has no future.
It's also fact that adapting to new patch is only really problem for one faction. It's safe to conclude that both sides will be adapting and exploiting new strategies simultaneously and one faction adapting is easy, while playing other is very hard.
Smells like balance problem to me. |
Its still good unit, no one builds FHT because why build it when you can build sc222? comes earlier, great killing power and cheaper investment.
I still see HT, but mainly for reinforcing and quick troop transport . |
I don't agree with everything flyingsmonster said, even though he has some points but the entire topic is about all the advantages the Germans have while not listing any of the Soviet ones. It's a completely bias statement.
I really don't hope that Relic would increase the Soviet AT power on the Soviet heavies. The ISU152, and IS2 are already powerful anti tank weapons and they completely destroy infantry. SU85 have very long range and can take on a Panther on a front to front battle. The Soviets have buttoning ability and AT nades that could potentially stop flanking.
Other than that then yes, the Soviets do need some better AT, but Relic should make some radical changes to do so it. This includes removing the ridiculous rng system that determines whether or not a tank gets it's engine completely destroyed and other nonsense like that.
Sadly you completely misunderstood what FlyingMonster was talking about.
Even tho he was comparing units, that is not what he was talking about.
That entire wall of text has a specific point, the rest is just story that leads to a conclusion. |
How about doing something to make Cons and Penals respectable, so we don't end up with Guards vs Grens spam games.
I think it's good the way they are now, it gives them flexibility without excelling in Anti-infantry if penals or Cons had a little bit more AI punch (penals vs LMG grens don't scale well) |
Is it just me unlucky (or lucky) that I always get squad wiped (or squad wipe) with the first shot without even telling them to target after patch?
They are super deadly now.
Nope, neither lucky nor unlucky. I have same issue
However, due to game mechanics change everyone is fighting from cover (bunched up) and mortars have easy target.
Subsequently, they get promoted quite fast and vet 1/2 mortars become very precise and deadly. I had multiple half squad and 3/4 squad wipes on moving infantry in single games.
Plus due to everyone being in the cover and not being able to play fast aggressive infantry combat, you guessed it, mortars are very popular. |
