Bethesda is a console first company since Fallout 3. Fallout 4 is an Xbone port just like TES V Skyrim was an Xbox 360 port...
TES IV Oblivion was their last game that wasn't horrible dumbed down and gutted so it could run on Consoles.
So don't expect a good UI, or excellent graphics/Optimization for Fallout 4
Current gen consoles are already so outdated they can't even run games 1080p 60 fps, they settle for 30 fps.
From what I've seen the gameplay mechanics are being gutted even further, no skills, only perks.
Dogmeat can't die.
Too much focus on a crafting system and sims like "build your own house features"(à la Hearthfire).
It's casualized as hell!
Also Bethesda can't successfully portray the dark satirical world of Fallout very well.
F3 and F4 looks so cheesy and over the top in comparison to F1 & F2. They just throw gory VATS and 50s music and call it a day.
Because they can't set the mood and atmosphere right for this genre, again it's gonna be up to modders to implement a proper survival system: deadly radiation, seeking shelter, food and scavenging (Like Frostfall, iNeed, Wet & cold -ashes Skyrim mods). This is what really sets in a wasteland survival atmosphere not a freaking green hue/tint.
However they do Sword & Sorcery much much better, I'm an Elder Scrolls Fan.
Anyways I'll keep a close eye on this game only to see what they do with mods after the paid mods fiasco. Are they going to try to implement it properly this time?
Bethesda games have sadly devolved into providing a solid sandbox for modders to play with and and truly develop the game.
But hey I'm the kind of person that plays a hardcore Skyrim with the Requiem overhaul and over 170 plugins...
P.S: Good advice with Bethesda games is to wait for the first two patches before starting a game, unless you want to eventually lose that very first character to broken quests, several bugs and save game bloat! Even better, waiting for the unofficial patches one year down the road lol
arent the new console gen closer to pc in framework? so i imagine less bug across.
is it me or am i the only one who did not experience game ruining bugs playing bethesda games like ever? i played oblivion and fo3, skyrim at launch.
on the perk system, it is not there to dumb down the game, it is to make leveling up more tangible and specialised.
i cant believe you are bashing on deep crafting system and settlement system both of which are completely optional and labelling them as "casual". dafuq?
Charging across a flat surface when they can accurately target you is probably worse.
they were supposed to have plenty of d-day tanks, craters from navy shells and decimated bunkers. considering these, high command probably thought allies would gain as much as germans from having clear vision.
after watching you play coh2 usf since when ocf was announced, i realised that i should play USf aggressive as hell and i am having most fun with them since ocf!
Exactly. And if you want to be a anti-RNG fundamentalist, then where does it end? Shells that always penetrate, or never? War is hell, and chaotic. This is not Starcraft.
weak slippery slope argument...
abandon mechanic increases the chance of loss tow fold just because of RNG. two fold is way too much. like how plane crashes were rare but still got fixed because rare RNG causing game winning/losing shit in one sweep.
