I play Soviets a lot, and I know for a fact you need to support your tanks, but that goes for every faction. And yes the Panther can crush infantry, but you need to use attack to hit infantry, but it also makes the main gun fire and with the reload I'll be damned if I waste any shots.
Your continued accusation that I only play one faction has been disproved like a million times, cut it out.
The T-34/85 is a tank hunter, in classification. It has high health, a duo of them can easily hunt down a Panther can kill it, or with market target kill larger armor.
The Panther is a very expensive tank that requires teching, the T-34/85 is a call in.

"Quickly"? In what universe does the Panther kill a tank by itself "Quickly". Reloads on the Panthers:

The T-34/85 is a tank hunter like the Panther (except with better AI). It doesn't even fulfill the same roll at the 76.
Uh, why are you not supporting your 85's as well? His Panther can't do shit to your infantry, while your 85's can fuck up his armor AND his infantry.
T-34/85 tank hunter? Oh my. It can fight PzIV as equal and that's about it. Against Panther, if you manage to flank it with one of them then yes, you have a chance to knock it out, if you don't then it's GG T-34s. Play Soviets and something different than 3v3 at least once and then come and comment about the faction.
FYI Panther is pretty decent against infantry. Mounted MG makes wonders. This plus blitz crush. |
I'd love to see T-34/85 being standard T3 vehicle and T-34/76 being a AI beast call in.
T-34/85 is about equal to PzIV. Not better.
Panther will quickly kill one of them and then run away to safety. Been there, done that. With a bit of luck you can even take them both out. Keep your front armour towards the enemy all the time. |
Soviet T3 was designed with Ram ability in mind. Now since ram is gone T3 is lackluster to say it mildly. Single Panther can deal with 3 of them at once. |
My reason is to let OKW stay the way it is. Elitist army with few but very powerful units on the field. Especially late game. Right now they are able to spam the hell out of infantry. This combined with insane Vet5 bonuses and very powerful units creates a composition that negates any infantry play late game. In one of the recent games I came across Vet5 Flashimjegers (or whatever you spell that) that obliterated my Rifles.
With less manpower you'll get less units which means OKW can keep their veterancy bonuses. Otherwise a serious rework is to be done. |
Maybe instead of complete re work of the faction, introduction of manpower penalty (similar to fuel and ammunition) would be enough to balance the faction out? I know in early alpha that was the case and then Relic decided to change this, but maybe reduction was too harsh? Instead of 66% income they should have introduce a 80% (similar to ammunition?)
I kind of like OKW concept. I just think it has been poorly executed. OKW floats manpower anyway.

OKW - Infantry gun is your mortar, Stuka is your Howitzer.
USF - have mortar truck but I didn't managed to get anything decent performance wise from it, Scout, Howitzer you can build from Captain building, Preist - these are your indirect fire units with USF.
As USF use smoke to get past defensive positions. |
Don't play large team games. Play 1v1. Game is far more balanced in 1v1. OKW in team games is straight dn exploit.
Also getting skill in 1v1 will let you own these 3v3 scrubs. #benefits |
