I thought this would be a thread on how Guards are OP. Haha, nvm.
I think people want Guards to be Tactical Space Marines. Maybe we could change the DP upgrade to Bolters? |
It's a good off-flank guard due to it's long sight and high infantry damage for the (relatively) small investment. With spotting scopes it makes an excellent spotter for artillery and the like in team games, or even scouting an advance. If you upgrade the cannon you have an excellent light vehicle killer (though for a bit too much cost imho) and at least in my opinion one of the best Katyusha hunters in the game. You don't even really need the cannon for it, but it helps. It's also -the- counter to Soviet Snipers, though you obviously have to be careful around Guards Rifle. |
No, the Scout Cars started seeing less action use due to a combination of the MG nerf+extra starting MP, which enabled more T2 play for Soviets and less Snipers on the field, as well as the veterancy fix. Before you could rush out a Scout Car, grab some easy kills before the AT nades hit the field and reach Vet 2 for 50% more health. That no longer happens.
I think the Scout Car has a role, and it is quite cheap after all, but I would be interested to see it experimented around a 50% extra health for additional cost or something along those lines. |
The 88mm is in the game. It's called the Pak 43 now. |
Only because you think the 1cp change doesn't affect 1v1 as hard, does not justify it breaking 2v2 balance, especially since it is an absolutely unneeded change.
It has nothing to do with what I think. I am suggesting if Shocks are fine in 1v1 but not in 2v2 then if the Shock+Guard combo specifically is the problem a better idea would be to balance Guards instead. Don't turn this into an ad hominem. |
Then maybe Guards are too strong...not Shocks. You have to view it from a 1v1 perspective to start with when balancing. Shocks at 1CP in 1v1 is fine.
Guards is an entirely different subject, let alone Guards+Shock combo. |
Does it affect the StuG and Brummbär too? |
I think SLI and potential performance increases are usually reserved for expansion material and the like. Doubt the balance designers are going to be put to work on performance increases and I doubt the higher ups consider CoH2 performance so bad that they are going to devote additional resources and coders to a performance patch.
Sad but true. |
Shock Troopers at 1 CP is fine and good for diversity at this stage, I think. If anything it promotes diversity in gameplay, MG42s, Snipers and Scout Cars are all cost effective counters to them and since they come at the hefty price of 440 MP it is going to impact Soviet map control quite heavily. Even if they then go T1 to counter potential sniper play you've locked them down to (usually) no T2. That in turn means you won't have to worry about AT guns for your tank play later, in addition to the fact that they won't have Guards. |
Think 120 mm need a much larger scatter considering it's blast radius. That thing can almost replace snipers. It's sooooo stupid. |
