Thread: How do you use Paratroopers?24 Jul 2014, 09:30 AM How do you use them? Their carbines are weak, admittingly I've never been able to upgrade them with any thing because they does before they get back. They're unfamiliar to me and I just need some tactics to utilise. What do you use them for, attack, support? I don't know, I just need to use them more. Any help appreciated In: US Forces Strategies
Thread: How can you counter Strumpioneers? 24 Jul 2014, 09:24 AM I am having real trouble, I keep losing early game battles and even most late game battles by Strumpioneer spam, I think these guys are OP. A riflemen squad In cover still lose to these guys and even struggle against volksgrenediers, am I doing something wrong? Anyway the main problem is that riflemen really struggle to kill Strumpioneers, each German player plays their strengths and runs them up close, even when I fall back they still tear me apart, any tactics? I do put my troops in directional cover but they still lose. When I get the fuel I get the LT. And then the AA half track but by that time their VG's have panzershreks. In addition the US grenades are so underpowered, they don't kill they just injure whereas the German grenades can kill half the squad. Any help is appreciated greatly In: US Forces Strategies

Thread: US Forward Base of Operation27 Jun 2014, 16:35 PM This tactic allows you to create a forward makeshift base where units can reinforce and heal off. For this you shall require: A Major A Military Ambulance Very quick and easy. Just behind your front line place your major in cover and set him as a 'Retreat point', this means that any retreating units shall fall back to the Major if he is closer to them, which he will be. You then place the ambulance next to the Major. Retreat a damaged unit back to the Major and then use the ambulance to reinforce them, if they need healing then disembark the Medics and then click 'First aid', this will heal the units. The major can use his special abilities such as the combined artillery to support the front line troops. Feedback would be appreciated, thanks! In: US Forces Strategies

It will only pay off when you have 1 conscript squad and like 6 guard squads. Here are the problems with it: 1: Initial cost of the reserve conscripts: 240 man power 2: Upkeep of reserve conscript squad: 9 manpower per minute 3: Possible savings per model: Engies=1; cons=0; penals=2; weapon crew=-5 (crew is cheaper to reinforce); guards=10; shocks=12(no armor). There is simply no benefit to keeping a conscript squad at your base for reinforcement purposes. It just takes too long to earn back your 240mp investment considering there is also a 9mp/minute upkeep. But this is the idea, it should be used in a long game, it short bursts. In a game which lasts a while, the majority of your infantry consists of; Guards/Shock, support and maybe penals, therefore, you do save manpower and time. In: Red Army Strategies
Thread: Soviet Rapid Redeployment Tactic3 Jun 2014, 21:50 PM Ok, all of these replies seem viable, i didn't know about the cost/ upkeep because i don't read up about this stuff. However the idea is, as the title suggests, to get units back in the fight faster, merging is faster than reinforcing. I can see how some people may see this as wasting a squad, having it sat at your base and all but it does work. You can send the squad out of your base too, at any time. Thread: Soviet Snipers? B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L27 May 2014, 10:38 AM This tactics concerns soviet snipers. For this you will need: - A Scout sniper squad - Any random squad I use this tactic very early on in the game. Firstly I recruit conscripts and build the T1 building. I then send the conscripts forward to a victory point or the middle of the map, depending on the game mode. i then recruit the snipers for the hefty price of 300+ MP. Here's where the tactic really begins, snipers are effective with almost all infantry types as a SUPPORT unit! I must emphasize that, snipers have pathetic none existent armor and the only protection they have is either the cover you put them in or the scout's spotter, armed with only a standard rifle. You CANNOT expect snipers to go out by themselves as an attacking force because you'll be lucky to get them back. The only exception to this rule is early on in the game to capture points behind your front line and sneak into enemy territory to harass. Techniques: - Snipers can assist conscripts win early game engagements with Grenadiers, even when armed with light MG42's - Snipers can be very effective at picking off enemy units that are pinned by your Maxim's - Snipers are very effective at picking off lone units (especially those that the enemy doesn't realize they have!) - Snipers are good at stealing points off the enemy and cutting off supply however i would say that they must be supervised. - Snipers can be put into a super clown car with a squad armed with a flame thrower to improve their effectiveness. Just an obvious tip, your snipers sight range doesn't match their shooting range which is why if you have a squad ahead of them, your snipers while be able to shoot and be safe at the same time. They can fire and the enemy will not be able to see them because they are out of their sight range. If your snipers are detected move them back and fire again, repeat this for however long you wish but retreat them as soon as they take damage and get medics to heal them. The cost for reinforcement is 90MP. Word of warning, always keep an eye on your Snipers unless they're behind your front line, they don't normally say that they're being attacked and they die very quickly, one rifle grenade can easily kill both the sniper and the spotter, this is a major loss of resources early on in the game. Also soviet snipers are more likely to miss compared to that of the German snipers , beware of this. It also takes about 8-10 seconds for the sniper to fire again. In: Red Army Strategies
