I do feel that teams should be matched with randoms, BUT I feel that the matchmaker should take this into account and adjust it's formulas accordingly. We need arranged-team ladders. Thread: Ostruppen seriously11 Oct 2013, 02:04 AM @hubewa: Frankly, osttruppen are what conscripts should have been (+ Oorah) and conscripts are what osttruppen should have been (- Oorah). I share the opinion of Link0 and Blovski in that they need a different nerf especially with regards to garrison synergy, but let's not get too carried away with nerfing this (or any) unit. Relic's nerf bat is pretty heavy. Let's look at the Su-85 for example: first nerfed focused sight speed, which was a fine nerf on its own. Then, they nerfed overall speed, but did not change the focused sight speed nerf to compensate, so now focused sight mode is essentially useless unless you have a spare Su-85 or are feeling particularly safe in which case you must be stomping pretty hard. Same thing happened with Maxim/MG42 when they were both nerfed into oblivion at some point. We should suggest nerf tradeoffs, rather than stacking nerfs to a unit (because it'll probably end up being near useless with the way Relic typically goes at it). I propose a manpower increase (maybe 160?) and a much longer ability cooldown to reduce spam, but change capping speed back to normal to avoid them being nothing but weapon crewers. In: COH2 Balance

Grenades really work best if the target squad or men are even slightly damaged to start. If they aren't, it will seem like the grenade does nothing. But if they are slightly damaged, it's highly likely a grenade will kill a lot of men or do massive damage. There is a chance to crit for explosives once infantry are below 50% health. That is probably what causes the grenade to be more effective on injured soldiers. In: COH2 Gameplay

But that means you have no more leverage than anyone else since anyone else can potentially buy their next content. On-topic: They really should release some free commanders with the DLC abilities just so everyone would be able to learn first-hand any new mechanics that come with these (and future) DLC commanders. As for CoH2 turning into LoL2: Dear God help us all. The outcomes of RTS games should not be decided at "commander-select." In: COH2 Balance

They are allowed not to nosedive at the very first MG-bullet. The issue here was some ppl who said conscripts run through unhindered. Which happens to be untrue in 98% of cases. Suppression happens at the same rate regardless of armour so if Shock Troops can walk through MG fire unhindered then conscripts can do the same. The only difference between the two in this case is that the conscript squad will be dying as it is walking up which doesn't really matter since as long as the molotov is thrown the engagement is essentially won in 90% of cases. Oh no, I don't mean rename them, not at all. I meant they need to revisit the actual design and skill kit of the Penal battalion and make it either an effective elite or suicide unit - not half-assed at both. In: COH2 Balance
