Thread: Is Relic using some Formulas for units statistics?26 Apr 2014, 11:44 AM I think the system right now is mostly based around usability and ease of understanding. There tend to be only a few ranges (40, 50, 60, 100) for tank fights. Damage is a multiple of 80, in most cases 160. Vice versa, this also applies to the HP (320, 480, 640, 800, ...) so that there is not much 'overkill' or damage wasted. Armor values are mostly for balance reasons, but they seem to at least try to stick with historical values. In: COH2 Balance

Thread: Blitzkrieg is pretty useless now25 Apr 2014, 09:48 AM Pre patch all units were almost instantly at their maximum speed. This meant that Blitzkrieg was super effective since it increased the maximum speed, but not acceleration (which didn't really matter). Now acceleration does actually matter a lot, keeping the same Blitzkrieg ability would've resulted in a tank that takes ~30 seconds to accelerate to it's max speed and can barely break/move around corners. Right now, a normal Panther feels more sluggish than the old one (due to the acceleration change), but with Blitz it's pretty similar. Panther is still one of the fastest tanks and with Blitz it still has the higher mobility, the fact it's also harder to hit is an added bonus. Play more with it and test it. One day is not enough to really figure out the new role of Panther and Blitz. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Two new free Commanders today! 25 Apr 2014, 09:41 AM I'm happy with both commanders. Lend Lease is a great addition for T4 play, giving both a HT and an all round tank to fill the gaps. The German one feels overall less focused on supporting any special tier, yet the puma works great on certain maps. It's mobility and range are it's strength. Command tank and Osttruppen Call-In are meh in my opinion - not good, but also not bad. Panzer Tactician is useful, especially with the new tank combat and counterattack tactics works nicely in combination with the Osttruppen. Their low upkeep makes them (sometimes) quite useful If you wonder why these units - Western Fronts expansion is coming and probably contains those new units. Creating new commanders when all the abilities already exist is probably rather cheap and helps to 'hype' and 'advertise' the expansion. Relic gains advertisement by offering a glimpse of new units, community gains two new commanders, everybody wins. Except certain people here who always complain. In: COH2 Gameplay
Thread: Two new free Commanders today! 24 Apr 2014, 22:59 PM I am amazed at your ignorance and arrogance. vCoH and CoH2 have pretty much the same amount of non doctrinal units, yet CoH2 offers a lot more units in commanders. Quite a few of those are freely accessible (DShK, 45mm ATG, Sherman, Puma, 250HT). Relic gives 2 commanders with one new unit each away for free and all you can think of is complaining about the fact that stuff is in different commanders (vCoH had doctrines, did you also whine about not having Airborne and Pershing at the same time?). I personally really like the commander system since it offers a far higher amount of customization than just a doctrine choice. I don't like the DLC part though. Honestly, give it a rest. You made a triple post, insulted quite a few other people and did nothing but constantly re-iterate your argument, each time exaggerating more. You are one of those people who always complain aren't you? In: COH2 Gameplay
