The point is that pre-patch the Tiger Ace player had no choice but to throw his Tiger into a knock-out raid. This meant running a big risk getting it killed.
Now the obvious strategy is to use the TA to hold positions for 10 mins and after that push with as well a superunit as a full 100 pop army.
I still don't see how this change improved anything.

Conscripts have never been "useless" nor are they now. If they are useless to you, you are doing something wrong.
For 240 mp you'll get a solid basline Infantry unit that can be upgraded to soft counter pretty much everything and does excellent service when it comes to flanking manoeuvres.

New PPSh is very weak. Ost now go with G43 and constripts die in no time. Guards are joke versus usual grenadiers blob. (some clever dick tell me, it is not blob, it is concentrating power :-) ) Penals have the same armour as conscripts and versus G43 have no chance.
Only way is fast Shock Troops. |
Give them lightsabres and offmap Enterprise with Klingons. :-)
If you get close, weapons crew die in no time. Constripts and grenadiers are ballanced. If you flank, molotov on weapon crew is now waste munition.
If you want, we can train some fight. Or watch some replays. On this web are many very good replays, but with new patch you must wait some time. |

A change was necessary, I dont like the change myself too much but its better than nothing
I was gambling unit. All or nothing. It was nice idea.
But they need sell this commander. And 70% players play only germans. Bussines managers direct game ballance. |
Why should you upgrade guards early?!
If first PzIV is too much aggresive, you can button and take down with ZiS-3. And guards with LMG is much more better versus infantry.

So after the patch players will get their resources back after 10 minutes. I faced a tiger ace in a 2v2 game, we went head on with the germans and it was an even game. Until the tiger ace showed up, without a baserush, just playing defensive and not running into anti tank guns and mines, and getting his resources back after 10 minutes. So how are the soviets supposed to win against this?
The patch is great, and the 16CP change is good, but the resources back thing is just ridiculous. 2v2's often take more then 20 minutes to finish, so the 16CP's will get reached by the majority of players.

You completely missed my point, my friend.
The difference I was pointing out, is that Sov Commander abilities are largely Infantry callins for MP, whereas Ost Commander abilities are largely Muni based effects.
So whereas Sov can funnel use out of a Commander with MP, while using his Muni for conventional things, like what you listed, Ost has to spend Muni to use Commander abilities IN ADDITION to the conventional things, like you listed.
Do you see the difference I mean?
Its hardwired into the way Ost/Sov Commanders are different from each other.
In this you have true.
But in game you must use muni as no tomorrow, if you want win. Dont matter on side.
