Soviets uses lot of AT during war. Not just field guns and AT rifles. They had some nice AT granades such RPG-6 and RPG-43, both was able to penetrate 75 mm of armor. Yep, they used of bundles too. But in Coh only the Panzerfaus penetrates and crits in 99.9% of the time.
In early war they used even AA 85-guns K-52 to stop panzers.
In WW2 it was enough to stop the tank, not to destroy it. But we can't take such approach in the game, right? |
People may get upset that units dont do what they assume they would, according to history or their apparent title/graphic etc, but unfortunately CoH2 only comes so far as to historical accuracy.
Yep, good point. First time i was like "ohh, comon, T34 can't do a shit to Panther? wtf is this?" 
But then, I read the unlocked upgrade description, get campaing about Gulag of Heroes and was't surprised in other sides. It's just developers point of view how game should run and sales better. |

Hi guys, I would like to join this. I think Soviets hard pressed to T0 build or lose map control in 99% jf games. Need to much mp and time to get maxims-mortars to play "cutoff style" as germans do.
And the thing about unit info. If you want to win, you must know the numbers imo. But many people play for fun and don't want or don't have time to read "secret numbers". CoH it's not such a "progamer" game now, with this state of unit info. Now it's game for fans imo.
In times of WarCraft 1 wasn't user friendly, but comon it's 2013 now. I think it's not tooooo difficult to make more information in unit description.

If they had shown Nazi atrocities in CoH1 that would somehow excuse Soviet atrocities IRL?

The narrative and modus of storytelling is different in CoH2, to CoH1, and focuses on the suffering, sacrifices and tribulations of the baseline soldier. Its not a political difference, its just a "different" way to portray a narrative.

True that, relic should not have put atrocities into coh2, but handled it like coh1, where all was about fighting heroism (hence "company of heroes").
However the way certain russians are acting here, you get the impression its not about the game anymore, but a search for identity amongst russians since the soviet union is gone. Being messed up by soviet propaganda for another 45 years after the war (and even now by history revisionism) its quite understandable.
Also one dimensional thinking (non russians want to harm russians by telling lies about them, mostly the "westeners") and using stereotypical thinking ("if you are not my opinion, you are a nazi) is all over this forum and in Badcomedian´s video aswell.
Thats why its so hard to talk to you people, because you need to punsh through a wall of ignorancy.
History will judge us, what I would like to say now. All your words are without any facts just words. Shall we wait reaction from Sega and Relic or just continue the words fight? |
